Completed the Severance rewatch with my wife, who was watching for the first time. Saw a lot I missed on the first viewing. Was fun witnessing someone see it for the first time. Also watched the just-released first 8 minutes of the first episode of season two:
Iāve said before that I trust the makers of this show, but I have to admit Iām a little worried. I am assuming the things Mark is told by Mr. Milchick are not true. Itās not really going to be a mostly-new cast, is it?
I was a big fan of early Dexter seasons but have zero desire to watch any of these spinoffs. The last few seasons where hard enough for me to get through.
First two episodes of season two feature a disappointing amount of squid games, but the cliffhanger ending of ep2 promises the slow burn will be worth the wait.
Thereās a trans character! But they arenāt played by a trans actor.
Hyun-juās actor isnāt trans in real life, and thereās a sad reason: there arenāt many openly trans actors due to Koreaās attitudes toward the LGBTQ+ community.
As the showās creator Hwang Dong-hyuk explained to TV Guide, āWhen we researched in Korea, there are close to no actors that are openly trans, let alone openly gay, because unfortunately in the Korean society currently the LGBTQ community is rather still marginalized and more neglected, which is heartbreaking.ā
Iām probably in the minority here, but I gave up on skeleton screw halfway into episode 5. Just decidedly meh. The whole interaction between Elephant kid and theā¦other world was incredibly forced, in true modern SW fashion. Annoying kid is just annoying with no redeeming features. 2 bags, would not recommend.
Done with 4 episodes of Severance. Did people say it was very slow when it came out? Iām totally hooked so far and have no notes on the pacing, just great all around!
