I’ll go back to watch the whole show. I just really want to watch the debate eps.
It’s a great show but I wasn’t nearly as into it as Frasier.
Probably an unpopular take but Six Feet Under is great on the first watch. But it’s not rewatchable. I’ve tried multiple times because I love the show but given up before the end of S1 every time. Hot take but I think its because outside of Michael C Hall the acting performances kind of suck.
I do think it’s cool the Can’t Hardly Wait(one of the most underrated 90s movies and soundtracks) actress lands the Six Feet Under gig. But we basically never saw her again after that.
God
Damn.
Arcane 2.2 Goes INCREDIBLY hard. I have no idea how its going to end in three episodes, but holy shit at this set.
I’m pretty sure that if they stick the landing, my new GOAT list will start with
- Arcane
I’ll rewatch it at some point for sure, but my current rewatch priority list is something like this:
- Mad Men
- Americans
- The Wire
- Deadwood.
- Breaking Bad
- Curb*
*Curb is my all time fav comedy so it’s kinda in perpetual rewatch mode.
I like Curb a lot too. Probably my #1 as well. For some reason I don’t find it as rewatchable as Seinfeld.
I’ve never watched Mad Men!
I have this hangup about giving shows like these a shot if I’m clueless about the games they’re based off of (see also: Fallout, The Last of Us).
I fear that I’d miss too much. It feels like it would be like watching The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke knowing nothing about pro wrestling.
Maybe my thinking is flawed.
You need absolutely zero knowledge of League of Legends to get into this show. Ive never played or seen a single second of lore.
I watched TLOU without ever playing the games and it was really good. Played lots of Fallout and don’t think that added much to the experience (also good).
Fallout show doesnt require any video game knowledge. You see some fun fan service stuff if you’ve played the games. Last of Us is probably a bit better for fans of the game but they changed so much stuff that it doesn’t seem necessary.
FWIW, Arcane gets my highest of high, CanadaMatt Seal of Approvals - Love it or your money back.
Seriously though, passing on this is like passing on The Sopranos in 99, The Wire in 2004, or Breaking Bad in 2008. You will eventually get around to watching it, so you might as well do it now.
I tried playing TLOU and found it dull, so I didn’t get very far and remembered nothing but the basic setting. Show is pretty great.
The problem with TLOU was it was basically scene for scene the game. Still good but felt too much like a remake for me.
With the exception of the Offerman episode. Holy fuck that was one of the best episodes of tv ever.
Heresy detected
About the game? Yeah I know it’s popular. It didn’t grab me. I try to be good about not letting sunk cost fallacy get its claws into me too often (though I don’t pretend to always succeed).
Yeah about the game. The first part is definitely the most boring one, so I guess I sort of get it. Still the first game that had me crying at the end, and having a lot of fun before that. Some of the action sequences are intense imo.
I’m the complete opposite. Watched Seinfeld after Curb and it just fell flat for me. I’m sure if I had watched it when it aired I would have loved it. But couldn’t even finish Seinfeld, while I’m on my third go-around of Curb.
You need to remedy that condition ASP.
