It feels like they approach the jewishness of everything pretty well actually, based on what a few of my jewish friends have told me.
The speech by the ex in the last episode that outlines why being the wife of a rabbii was so important to her came across particularly real and heartfelt, and my friends said it was quite authentic.
Doing something I haven’t done in a long time tonight. Arcane releases at Midnight pacific, so I plan to be staying up late to catch a show Ive been waiting for for three years.
I’ve only watched a couple of episodes, so I was referring mostly to all the old jews at the temple being upset by the shiksa, and also his sister-in-law.
haven’t seen it, but I was a pretty regular Good Wife viewer, the character was pretty good but making a whole show seems kinda gimmicky? Like … Monk was great but should have been a movie, by S2 the gimmick was kinda worn out.
It’s pretty much Columbo-type crime-solving. You’re given the outcome during the cold open same as it ever was, then spend the rest of the episode marveling at how this nerd lady you are weirdly attracted to keeps tap dancing on the cops’ faces whilst solving the murder du jour. As long as you aren’t too critical it’s a decent hour. There’s also a running subplot where she’s looking to bust the guy who played Bunk Morland from The Wire when things get dull.
I’m sure it will get stupid at some point because network TV writers can’t help themselves, but if you need a mom-hot version of Lt. Columbo you could certainly do worse.
Been rewatching Better Call Saul and it’s amazing how good this show is. I remember thinking lmao a prequel/sequel was destined to fail even if it was interesting. Now I’d rather watch it than Breaking Bad. Mike and Gus make the show.
This time I skipped to season four. For some reason the Chuck storyline really puts me off.
I like BCS too but the main problem is that we know what’s going to happen. A lot less suspense when half the cast has plot armor and the other half we know never appear in BCS.
It’s very well done, but knowing what is going to happen is a huge handicap.
I suppose in the context of a re-watch that is irrelevant. I’ve only seen each series once. I never rewatch anything.
