lotta Carol singing in this ep

Carol singing? Haven’t watched it yet but every episode of Pluribus has been worse so at least it is consistent.

The Bald Move podcast guys have got to be orgasmic. The one guy was so focused on the Gap as an issue getting from South to North America.

I think this is a show where you have to enjoy the ride or bail.

The ride:

“Little” Alex Horne doing a 24 hour endurance stream. Mostly singing “How long has this been going on?”

Can’t stop watching

Well I just watched the Chair Company and it was very good. I really don’t enjoy a lot of TV and this joins The Rehearsal as a rare reason I am glad I am too lazy to cancel all the streaming services. In addition to being very funny it is actually much smarter and more pointed than most of the ballyhooed prestige dramas. Something I hope people watch a century from now to understand the stupidity of our current moment.

It also personally resonated to me as a central Ohio boy. True story, in high school I actually worked at the Wendy’s in Delaware City and the mayor would sometimes come over after work. Back in those days there was an all you can eat salad, pasta and taco bar there. But it was all self serve and the ham arrived at the store in pre-cut cubes. I remember my first day on the job my training began by watching some videos in the managers office. The best one was “Grill Skillz” featuring a guy rapping about how to make the hamburgers. At one point in the video a bunch of patties sang a chorus about how to tell when they were done. And that is the story about how I learned to cook.

Anyway five bags of popcorn, highly recommended.

Grill skillz as well as Hot Drinks, and Cold Drinks are available on youtube, and the first two are actually decent bangers considering they were made for Wendy’s training purposes.

Did the higher ups let you know about Wendy’s Carvers while you were working there?

Also, which of the two beignet shops in your town was the best?

I never heard anything about Wendy’s carvers, but I wasn’t let in on much that was going on as the manger there thought I was unreliable and that I spent too much time trying to make the girls at the register laugh. Once I took hits off the helium balloon tank to make my voice all funny, but I did it too many times in a row and ended up passing out a few seconds before he came around the corner to see three of my coworkers holding me up. He didn’t fire me for that but he made it clear that there would be little chance for advancement.

I don’t remember any beignet shops, but this was a long time ago and there weren’t as many yuppies there back then. Sometimes if we had been out all night drinking we would get breakfast at the Hamburger Inn and if you wanted you get an apple fritter and cover it with sugar from the coffee station.

Wait, WHO told you about Wendy’s Carvers?

I learned about Hot Drinks from GPW3

I’ve actually been to the hot springs in Jemez Falls from E7 of Pluribus. Never once did I think that would make it into a tv set.

OK one more time, I never said shit about Wendy’s carvers. I worked there 30 years ago, it was a different time, a different America. We didn’t have “fast casual,” “Chai Frosties” or “smartStations.” Back then if you wanted a ham and pudding burrito, you got up, went to the Superbar and made it the fuck yourself. And afterwards you might opt to have a cigarette, right there in the goddammed restaurant. Hell, if you were really worked up you might be able to talk your old lady into giving you a blow job in the bathroom. And I don’t have any issue saying any of this because I worked there at-will, I didn’t sign any NDA or any other kind of contract. I am a FREE MAN and I can say whatever the FUCK I want and there is nothing you or any fat cat from corporate can do about it. Capisce?

I have been there too.

Cool little place and town in general. The mountains around there are fun to camp in for some cooler temps in the summer.

I generally liked New Mexico. I like both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. We did a great road trip down to Carlsbad Caverns and the white sands desert as well.

I did not like the TownePlace Suites in Albuquerque lol

Mine was Spoony wayyyyyyyy back in the day

I’ve also been there. It was the middle of December, we got there when they opened, and the air temperature was around 15 degrees F. Had the entire place to ourselves though and the water felt great.
