More than 60 percent of young men are single, nearly twice the rate of unattached young women, signaling a larger breakdown in the social, romantic and sexual life of the American male.
The typical age gap between husbands and wives in the United States has narrowed over the past 20 years
So women aren’t dating older men.
I know that everyone here is old but I’m wondering how much truth there is to the manosphere stuff?
Young men have clearly come to the the conclusion that online dating has resulted in young women dating the same men and everyone seems to be telling them that they imagined it.
They frankly watched too much porn in their formative years and think everything should be like that. If you don’t attempt normal social interaction, even if always rejected, at a young age (13, 14, 15), you’re going to eventually land there.
The premise of Adolescence was basically absurd because a kid with those looks at that age, even if a total a-hole, would generally have no problem attracting girls. Most of those types don’t have to put in any work.
It’s the chasers and unattractive boys going out of their league that tend to have the most rejections. That doesn’t mean you give up and hate women. You just adjust and things will happen. None of these people adjust because their ‘good looking’ ‘charismatic’ mentors think they’re entitled to women’s bodies and want their minions who have no social skills to feel the same way as it makes them all super rich and influential. It then creates a culture of misogynists, which ain’t gonna draw women closer to them.
Twice as many single men than young women suggests strongly that some young women are choosing FWB over having a boyfriend which means some young men are matched up with multiple young women.
Everyone over 40 seems to be telling the struggling young men that it is their fault because they suck and got tricked by Andrew Tate into becoming a misogynist, while ignoring the possibility that the game has changed.
Reddit has a ton of wild ass fan theories as to what’s actually going on and they are wild. A lot of them have already been proven wrong but I admit I have very little clue as to what is actually going on here. It’s also entirely possible it’s just pure absurdity and isn’t meant to make sense but they are definitely connecting a lot of string.
The Mike reveal was also insane although there’s plenty of evidence he’s not the most well put together.
There’s definitely something to Ron repeatedly hitting his head.
The show also works as just sketch comedy with one insane scene to the next even if they aren’t well tied together, and I’m enjoying it on that level too.
I thought the first part was ok if you try not to think too hard about the obvious plot holes and ridiculously shot scenes. particularly, how do the feds have a base in the underground, but their above ground base at the rift gets absolutely wiped out by a few demagorgons? also, in that scene, all the soldiers are shooting high powered rifles across from each other at the gorgon but are somehow not getting crossfire. otherwise was pretty ok if you just turn your brain off.
I’m not an army guy but they don’t train you to stand in a circle with your other 30 soldiers armed with fully automatic weapons and fire into extra dimensional beings with absolutely no effect for 30 seconds?
Every single scene up until episode 4 was our “heroes” yelling at each other. Other than a very few trudging through the fields with 2 characters scenes, it was yelling the entire script. They should have killed off dustin.
Watched Stranger Things S5 E3 last night. Enjoying the season much more than I thought I would, given the long gap from last season.
Two nit-picky problems with the episode, though, that made no sense to me:
1) The Turnbow kid is playing Ghosts n’ Goblins on NES, but on the screen is the ARCADE version of the game. I assume it’s green screened, but they couldn’t get footage/create their own footage of the NES version? Was it a rights issue?2) At Henry’s house, Holly received letters and gifts from the mailbox when the flag was UP. You put the flag up when there’s something to give the mail carrier. The flag isn’t up when you have mail!
I wonder if they just liked how that version of the game looked better. There were a lot of authentic 80s props in that kid’s room, and I had the same set of Transformers sheets when I was little.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was it. And obviously nobody except a handful of nerds will notice.
In the poker game scene I was in on Ozark, they did a lot of things incorrectly, like deal the community cards the wrong direction, because a) they were making a certain camera move and needed it that way, or b) it just looked better in the scene. Turned out, they were probably right.
