The Television Streaming Thread: Part III

So made up numbers look bad for a company who can lose that much money a year for a century and not have it show up on the books? I think someone is trying to get Apple down to 200 so they can buy some more of it…

I am astonished at the improvement in Wheel of Time from season 2 to season 3. The first two seasons were kind of crap, but season 3 is outstanding. It’s like Game of Thrones running in reverse.

This was S tier television. One of the scariest things I’ve seen. Really rips open modern society and spills its guts out for all to see.

Can’t see anything else topping this as best show of year.

Yep it is amazing stuff. Only 4 episodes but 1, 3 & 4 are some of the best and most unsettling hours of TV out there.

White Lotus tonight had some funny parts, but that might have been the weakest episode of the season.

Still excited for the final two episodes though.

I didn’t think it was bad, per se, but yeah wouldn’t argue it was the strongest episode of the season. Nothing felt wrong about it, just like the wrap up of the “moving pieces into position” phase of the season.

I really could just watch an hour of rick moving through bangkok, rizz levels are off the charts

another episode of great facial expressions

I agree that it was one of the weaker episodes of the season, but I still dug it. Season might be nominally the weakest of the three, but I feel like the show is still in good shape. They really couldn’t do anything with the rest of the season that would have me skipping season four (hi Ted Lasso) or anything like that.

Regarding the beginning,

I actually bought the suicide as real, seemed like it was well within the show’s range to do something shocking like that to open an episode, and at first my reaction was to be grumpy at what felt like a cheap trick. Ultimately have to concede that it actually served a worthwhile purpose since it showed what is currently keeping him from following through; the character doesn’t really have anyone to talk to about this that allows him to give it to us through exposition.

Agree that it’s in a good place right now.

The biggest source of my complaints about last night was that I seriously did not need to see the brother-on-brother handjob that many times).

yeah that was the best one by far but there were a couple of others

re: “the beginning” scene

this also made a good setup for the discussion with the guru later and I even said to my wife “maybe tim will end up staying for a year”

Righteous Gemstones killing it. The character Judy Gemstone played by Edi Patterson is elite. Just superbly done.

She was quasi-blackmailing him. It went something like this

Saxon: Let’s never mention this again.
Chloe: I won’t if you come to the party

She probably wasn’t entirely serious, but I could see him just not wanting to chance it.

Also is it just me or is Chloe a dead ringer for a younger Kristin Davis.
