Gave The Idol two episodes and I’m tapping out. It does have some interesting commentary on fame/stardom, but not enough to justify having to slog through 20 minutes per episode of Abel making softcover porn with a woman a decade younger than him.

Definitely start from the beginning. As mentioned there are a ton of classics that still hold up, but also so much vital character development. Like if you just jump in with the current season you may be asking yourself why are Frank and Charlie sharing a bed and what’s with all the cat noises? You’ll need the context of previous seasons to fully appreciate the depth of these characters.

Sunny is great as long as you don’t mind that half the lines are yelling. Curb has a similar vibe along those lines.

heh this is my wife’s biggest beef with the show, I don’t mind it though.
I would definitely start at the beginning or at least at S2. There are a lot of things that work much better if you’re aware of the history and personality of the characters. The creators themselves kind of hated on S1 on their podcast so I suppose newcomers could get turned off before the show really hits its stride. Danny Devito’s character was a huge addition in S2, I’m not sure the show lasts without Frank.

Danny is the big story of the show. You are right, he is their John Cena. Game changer when he joined the cast.

Anyone watch Welcome to Wrexham? I started it when it first came out but only got a few episodes in. I was able to binge the rest of season 1 (18 episodes holy crap). I really enjoyed it and I am not a huge futbol fan.
Does anyome know if there will be a season 2?

Watched and enjoyed it, there will be a season 2 i believe the matches and stuff have already happened so maybe we get it this fall.
I tapped out of Jury Duty after 15 minutes. It didn’t seem interesting or amusing.
Binged all 4 seasons of Succession in the last couple of weeks. Depressed now. What a sad view of humanity.
