The Television Streaming Thread: Part II - Hot Takes, Jags Fans, and Bert

Incredible movie from simpler times. The type of film we’re likely to never again see in theaters.

The flaw is they didn’t explain it beyond her whole world didn’t care enough about her to check on her. And while the essential loneliness of man is a good enough theme, I don’t think it’s this story’s.

Finished S1 of White Lotus yesterday. Loved it all the way through, and can’t wait to fire up S2.

Confirmed, 4/5 bags of popcorn! Wasn’t aware of who Aubry was when I first watched S1E1 of Legion way back, but she made an impression. Great role.

Looking forward to the next two seasons, crossing my fingers it doesn’t get too wierd in a bad way.

You might want to just quit now. Legion S2 and Fargo S3 completely destroyed my opinion of Noah Hawley.

Right?!!! S1 is incredible, but s2-3 were like Richard Kelly making literally anything after Donnie Darko.

Including the Donnie Darko director’s cut!

Well shit. Fargo S3 was…not good :(

Ok, bailing. Haven’t seen Severance yet.

Thewlis was so good in Fargo S3 I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed all four Fargo seasons. First two were a bit better, though.

I’ll still watch S5, but I’m not sure why because I expect to be disappointed yet again.

You should get on that. Warning: It starts a bit slow. You need to give it several episodes, but by the end you’ll be on the edge of your seat.

how many seasons of dexter were bad? i think it was still good when KG was the villain.

At this point if you haven’t seen Severance you might want to wait for a release date for season two. I know I’m going to want to rewatch season one right before season two.

All but the first 2 imo. Even the Lithgow season was not as great as people say from what I remember.

he was super scary/convincing as a serial killer and killing Rita was a pretty brutal gotcha from what i can recall

I gave up on Legion about halfway through. It was really cool and interesting at first, but then got way too trippy and confusing for me. Felt like they were just making something so TV snobs could look down at people who didn’t understand it.

Another show like that imo is Billions, but in a far more extreme way by not being exciting until essentially a reboot with this year’s sixth season that replaced Bobby “Axe” Axelrod with Corey Stoll as Mike Prince.

If you tried seasons 1-5 of Billions and gave up…season six is for you

Slow Horses season 2 borrows a lot from Die Hard
