Sounds like a ringing endorsement to me!
EP1 of S2 in the books. Have to say it had a completely different feel to it from S1, and I didnāt enjoy it as much. Hopefully it will round into form soon.
IMO season 2 is not nearly as much fun as season 1, and the absence of Murray Bartlett is largely responsible.
I feel like most people fluctuated between S1>S2 and S2>S1 at least once while watching S2. Sometimes multiple times.
Toby taking a major heel turn
Slow Horses
I like the execution but the idea it was all A) a robbery and B) an elaborate revenge plot on Lamb specifically left me wanting a bit. The stakes were much smaller than I was invested in. And just realized that A and B are Die Hard 1 and 3 combo
Looks like S3 of Slow Horses is already filmed so hopefully another short wait between seasons.
Iām still in the White Lotus S2>1 camp but theyāre both great
for me S1 was more fun but S2 led to way more fun conversations
Some fun White Lotus analysis.
Canāt believe it took me this long to start watching Arrested Development. So funny.
Iām a few episodes into Alice in Borderland s2. Iām getting major Lost vibes from this show. Feel like the ending is going to disappoint. But Iām plot committed, so I guess Iāll find out.
I binged S2 while sick last week.
Thought the ending was surprisingly good. Much better than some dumb future or VR shit. All the scenes related to the King of Spades were horrific beyond beliefālike I canāt believe they failed that hard in writing, shooting, directing, editing those scenes when the rest of the action was so greatābut the other games and overall story trajectory were A+. An equal to S1 imo.
Almost my thoughts exactly. The King of Spades stuff was so damn stupid, that I nearly just quit after 1 episode, but then I checked IMDB and saw ep. 2 was rated a lot higher and decided to continue. Pretty much everything not KoS related is solid.
Just watched the first episode of Severance. Donāt know why people say it starts slowly. Itās great so far.
Also, you can get 3 free months of Apple TV+ through Target Circle if youāre a new subscriber.
Finale of Fleishman Is In Trouble was great. Best show of the year.

Come on now. I get prestige shows that cost millions that a few hundred thousand people watch but Looney Toons?
Itās not the production costs obviously, those are sunk costs. But keeping some shows in the catalog can trigger other costs because of licensing agreements etc.
Iām think they discussed this on an episode of āthe watchā podcast recently (not sure where it lose I would have heard it). Very inside baseball stuff.
I think the CEO has some very high powered financial incentives and heās gonna do whatever it takes to make them pay out, long term effects be damned
Just finished it.
By contrast with others I found it maybe tapered off a little after E1 but picked up brilliantly towards the end.
