What is cracked? Surely you don’t mean the satire/movie website?
No it is just a site that streams sports normally.
It’s
Crack stream .com
I Will post next time they run a movie
22 sold content as their business and made a big deal out of not allowing any pirating discussions out of solidarity with other content creators. I don’t know if that is as much of a priority with the new place, I assume someone will ask you to stop if it is.
I am in the media business and am MOSTLY against piracy but have pirated a time or two myself and have a vastly more forgiving attitude than my telecom overlords tried to convince me is necessary about this
I watched Unorthodox, a new Netflix show today that was pretty intriguing. Four ~55 minute episodes based on a true story/book about a woman who leaves an Ultra-orthodox community in Brooklyn. It’s very well done and gives a gripping look into the lifestyle of such a community.
As a non-practicing, atheist reform jew, I’ve always had mixed feelings towards the hasidic sects. It’s essentially an entirely different religion than that which I am familiar with, yet at the same time there are recognizable moments that any Jewish person will feel some connection to.
My conclusion after watching lines up with how I felt beforehand. Ultra-orthodox people (probably of any religion) live a dangerously messed up life. If you want a relatively quick show that is different, artistic, and entertaining, give this a watch. Just please don’t think all Jewish people are anything remotely like this.
The new Creepshow series on streaming service Shudder is interesting, but I suppose each anthology series has its own flavor, and this one comes from the bleakest part of Stephen King’s writing period. It is always about the weak finding power, which would be inspiring if it wasn’t power through cruelty. Even when a bad guy gets their just deserts, it feels somehow like even they deserved better.
Correction on the Ozark poker game. Looks like that was a take where I was still in post-flop because that was me who folded on the flop. My left hand got a nice featured closeup. Then they got a dramatic shot of me pondering what I just did a few seconds later.
You aren’t the guy sitting next to the mob failson right?
I’m the guy wearing glasses. I’m not THAT fucking old.
I was in just the wrong spot for great screen time. Two seats to the right of mob guy, two seats to the left of the dude he yelled at.
How was I ever a fan of The Secret of My Success?
It’s held together by the flimsy strings of the charm of Michael J. Fox, Helen Slater (Supergirl 1984), and let’s be honest, a killer soundtrack. But otherwise it is relentlessly awful and laughably offensive. It features
- an unwavering obsession with greed as a virtue
- an innate acceptance that anything the hero does is heroic, no matter how debased
- incest
- your aunt sexually assaulting you is kind of hot and honestly forgivable if she agrees to support your vast deceit and conspiracy to defraud the company for an executive seat
- did I mention the hero not just successfully defrauds the company, his happy ending is that he convinces his aunt to fund him purchasing enough stock to take it over entirely? Who needs a board seat when you can be CEO?
At the end of the movie, you can see famed character actor Mark Margolis (80 years old!!!), who played Ace Ventura’s landlord and Hector Salamanca in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul.
Here’s the title track, written by Night Ranger.
They had a bunch of big 80s songs, most memorably “Sister Christian.”
By the way, while I could write pages on my Ozark poker experience, here’s one thing: the actual players were not decided upon until that day. One of the contenders was the Asian guy with long hair that you see a couple times watching the game. When we got there, he was dressed in a fancy suit and was wearing sunglasses. I totally thought he was going to be picked, as he looked like a stereotypical high roller. He looked awesome. I was shocked at the group they chose and impressed that they didn’t go with the easy, obvious-seeming choices.
I don’t know if anyone else would mind, but I say go for it…
I still have Spiderman: Homecoming on my to-watch list just so I can see the epic dlk9s cameo.
Just an extra, Marty.
Agreed on the being respectful and cleaning up. I’ve been doing this for a number of years, though I’ve slowed down in the last year or so - I’ve seen everything.
In one of my first extra experiences, there was a lot of garbage left behind in extras holding. The PA told us to make sure we cleaned up after ourselves. A few people didn’t and the PA didn’t realize it until we were walking back to the place to check-out and go home. He made us turn around, head back to holding, and clean up. That’s good!
A couple people got really pissed off. One guy cut to the front of the check-out line and argued with the PA that since he didn’t leave a mess, he should be the first to sign out. He argued for several minutes before the PA made him be the LAST person to check-out. Another woman bitched and moaned about the situation, and she was one of the messy ones. I finally had enough and told her to shut the fuck up and stop acting like a child.
EDIT: Napping in holding is generally ok here - another extra will wake you up when it’s time to go to set. I don’t like doing that, though, as it’s just tacky. If I feel myself getting drowsy, I’ll just get up and walk around a bit.
How did you start doing this? Maybe an AMA thread?
I say we set up a watch party so we can all cheer when he pops up
“I’m coming up right…there! PAUSE IT PAUSE IT!”
I was under the impression you played Spider-Man.
That’s the great thing about wearing the costume. I can appear both as Spider-Man and myself and nobody is the wiser. CGI does wonders for my dad-bod.
