The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

Dirty Money is infuriating to watch.

The episode on elder abuse via guardianship is horrifying.

I watched the pharma bro episode and the one about the predatory lender and stopped there. The guardianship episode would probably break me.

I stopped after the environmental dumping thing and switched over to stand-up. Fuck, following the coronavirus is less depressing than Dirty Money.

I have no idea how somebody could interview that ā€œguardianā€ and not want to strangle her midway through the interview.

Marc Maron special looks excellent no?

Would anyone itt be interested in watching something like that as a group? Like when we rail the debates, except we watch something not 100% awful. The commentary would be amazing.

We can go back and watch old debates if it needs to be political. Iā€™d definitely enjoy the cognitive dissonance from some of us watching the old VP debates with Biden.

Maronā€™s new special is hilarious.

Itā€™s a good idea. Tom Segura has a special next week (or the week after, donā€™t remember)

We could do it for classics, too. My God, watching Goodfellas or Rounders with you guys would be amazing.

I could recite the lines in Goodfellas by heart. That and Casino.

Casino is by far Scorseseā€™s most underrated him.

Rounders would be hilarious.

Favorite line: ā€œholy shit thatā€™s a hell of an elkā€

Rounders would almost be worth going to audio-based Discord, but we are way too loud to a person LOL. Better stick to the forum :P

Gonna be that guy.

I didnā€™t think Rounders was a good movie. Wasnā€™t bad, but wasnā€™t particularly remarkable either.

As a movie? It was fine. As a POKER MOVIE? Fucking awesome and makes me want to play cards every time I watch it.

We need your voice for the group watch. Praising the movie isnā€™t nearly as fun as everyone mob stomping the one guy who has something negative to say about this thing everyone else loves. PILE ON ENGAGE.

Iā€™d watch the version with audio commentary from Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, and Chris Moneymaker if I could find it.

EDIT: Oh and Chris Ferguson who makes shit super-awkward with cringey jokes.

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA.

We should rail the commentary. I will shit on those guys all day. If you have to order the DVD, just make sure to disinfect first :P

Something as simple as a stickied Announcement along the top of the forum saying when/what would be :+1:

Make a poll?

I was hoping for some kind of calendar widget that would help with time zones or something. Does Google still do hangouts?

Something like Netflix Party is now Teleparty - Chrome Web Store maybe?

lololol

What Would You Do? is hilarious. For some reason I think @beetlejuice would dig this.

Iā€™m at the bottom end of the barrel when it comes to TV and Iā€™m not ashamed to admit it. To that end, I noticed that no one here has brought up Love is Blind. Terrible reality show about singles trying to find love, but the ā€œtwistā€ is that they can only talk to each other for the first few days (10 days?) and canā€™t actually see each other at all. Then they have to decide if they want to get married or not based on their conversations. If they agree, then they can finally see each other and the hilarity ensues. Itā€™s absolutely awful television but crazy binge-worthy. The people are mostly insane (I would argue 1 or 2 are not) and itā€™s an easy watch. Highly recommended.
