It’s based on the Philip Roth novel in which Lindbergh becomes president in 1940.
So soon after Man in the High Castle, too
One thread for teevee seems fine. Just post it here and eventually somebody will change the thread title.
Watched the orphan planet episode last night, a little heavy handed, then I remembered that all of the doctor shows I’ve watched have been heavy handed. Didn’t the guy doctors get to do stuff that wasn’t fighting racism or global warming or some other “issue” and just outsmart aliens? It really seems like they’ve turned it into Space McGyver with a Social Conscious…
I wasn’t sure whether to post this in the streaming TV or podcast thread, but there’s a new podcast called I, Podius in which Justice John Hodgeman and his friend review all twelve episodes of one of the GOAT prestige TV series I, Claudius. This has motivated me to watch the show for the first time ever and also follow along with the podcast and I gotta say, I’m four episodes in and this is excellent stuff.
I, Claudius a lot like Game of Thrones only with no on-screen action, hilariously bad sets/props, and some incredible, top-flight, classically-trained actors. Will Sir Patrick Stewart show up on the podcast to do a guest interview? Stay tuned!
If you’re a history buff or if you love palace intrigue dramas or if you just want to hear some middle-aged white dues talk about stuff they saw on PBS, this is a strong recommend.
where do i watch it?
Coming soon to an amphitheater near you!
If you have Amazon Prime you can get a free two-week subscription to Acorn TV. Otherwise, I guarantee you your local library has a complete set and this show is worth the extra effort of going off to the library and seeking it out. Fuck Bezos, just go to your public library like a real socialist. Everything is free at the library, what the hell that is wild af.
The Blackcoat’s Daughter
A slowburn horror movie that creates a great atmosphere and doesn’t rely on cheap jump scares. Highly recommend it.
Anyone see dispatches from elsewhere yet? I haven’t probably will tomorrow just wondering if other people who like weird shit (the OA, twin peaks, etc) like this.
Have not but always nice to meet someone who recognizes this gif
That is an all time weird shit scene
I still struggle to believe it’s real. Someone actually wrote that and filmed it.
I just had to rewatch it to believe it was real.
I’m an odd duck that really enjoyed the first season. A Sci fi noir that really committed to its premise. I’m not sure about the second season because the trailer made it seem like some action thriller, but I’ll give it a chance.
Enjoying Kim’s Convenience on Netflix. It’s a Canadian network comedy about a Korean family running a convenience store.
Better Call Saul tonight was out of this world good
I enjoyed both and was looking forward to where the 3rd season was pointed. No idea how Netflix makes these decisions but would rather see another season of the weird dancers than yet another YA series.
Anyone watch Super Size Me 2? Free on youtube.
I meant to, thanks for the reminder
