That’s a tough call. I don’t think you can go wrong doing it either way, I would only say that if you watch Mexico S1 you’re probably going to want to watch Mexico S2 after, so that’s a 20 episode commitment. S3 was good, but it’s probably fair to say that it was a slower boil, and it just doesn’t have that Escobar looming over everything element. But I found it interesting on its own merits. It’s close, either way. I have s1 narcos >>> all the other seasons, which were roughly similarly enjoyable to me.
TY for this answer. I had the same question.
Anyone else into Altered Carbon? I’m pretty excited for the next season.
Anyone watched hunters yet? I might have missed discussion above so apologies if I had. I’m halfway through and aside from the questionable (to say the least) holocaust politics of the show, I think it’s pretty much garbage from a story, character creation, world building perspective etc. I frequently find myself frequently cringing at the constant cliche moments. Logan Lerman is very good though. I understand it apparently ramps up later in the season so I’ll stick it out but vs better call saul (other show I watched this week) the quality gap in basically every area is just incredible.
There’s a couple posts above. I quit after 1 episode. SK only lasted 30 minutes. Doesn’t sound like we’re missing anything.
Ok thanks sorry I thought I scrolled back and checked but I must have missed the posts. Well now I feel validated in avoiding wasting another five hours on this.
said this on 2+2.
the anthony mackie casting has ruined it for me i think. kovacs isn’t the same character with him playing it just as anthony mackie… lost all the stoic, detached, logical nature that made him a cool character that all 3(ish) previous kovacs had.
now he’s just another mean mugging yelling angry generic superhero type
I hope not. I’m going to go into it with an open mind and low expectations, lol.
IMDb’s free streaming movie of the week is Blade Runner: 2049
Between that and the original on Netflix, anyone who has not yet purchased every available 4k Blu-ray of these movies can enjoy this perfect combo for the low low price of interrupting another Office rewatch
I am relistening to Slow Burn and saw their announcement reminder that Slow Burn is now a TV docuseries that premiered on EPIX Feb 16.
Anyone watched any of it yet??
I hope they invent an Ana de armas hologram before I die
Oh man LOL. S1E1 on Nixon is available for anyone without a trial or account. They just brought on fresh-faced Roger Stone.
Netflix show I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS is soooooooo good. Seven episodes at 20 minutes a piece is
A teenager navigates the complexities of high school, family and her sexuality while dealing with new superpowers; based on Charles Forsman’s graphic novel.
Terrific acting, terrific concept, terrific casting, terrific teenage romance, terrific coming-of-age arcs. Stars Sophia Lillis, who played young Beverly in the IT remake.
jesus christ this was supposed to be hyperbole. Fucking Alex Kurtzman.

I am halfway through s1e1 and dayum this is scratching every Breaking Bad itch and then some. To think that Entourage successfully convinced me it was impossible to make a great show about Escobar.
The trailer was actually pretty good
But the post-premiere aftermath takedowns were brutal lol wish we could actually see it
I enjoyed the 1st season of Dead to Me
A woman’s husband dies in a hit and run and she meets another woman in group therapy and they become friends. Then the twists start to happen.
It’s Alt History? I saw the trailer and honestly thought it was based on a true story…
Do we need a separate thread for non-streaming television? Because I am curious about who else is watching Doctor Who.
