It’s been a few years but it took me 3 watches before I finally understood it. It all does come together I just forget when.
Wow, live action Cowboy Bebop season ending is just terrible.
Basically, episodes 9 and 10 completely deviate from the anime and are brutal.
I guess the addition is that the live action writers opted to spell out the Vicious/Spike/Julia subtext and turn it into a generic, loveless, idiotic love triangle. Why the fuck would Spike carry a torch for a girl he fucked behind his once friend’s back once for years after leaving the Syndicate? Why would Julia want to run away with him after a one-night hookup? Why would she then marry (yes they are married in the live action version) Vicious? Totally lame.
Oh and after spending a whole season being a victim of a generic love triangle between a cowardly psychopath whose daddy leads The Syndicate and a guy who can’t let go of a fling with no real agency or control, Julia was aiming for the top spot of The Syndicate all along. That came completely out of left field. I mean she was a goddamn lounge singer in the beginning but was all along a criminal mastermind knowingly manipulating two men with eyes for the top of The Syndicate? It’s just such shoddy writing. And then for her to chuck Spike out of the church window is cringey. Makes Spike look even more pathetic than he was for chasing a skirt for years based on one night of cheating. Combine that with Faye being the one to rush in and try to save the day. I guess #SubvertExpectations because reasons?
Guess Ed shows up at the end talking about stopping Volaju (referring to the villain from the anime movie) before he does bad things. By the way, a point-by-point remake of Ed looks terrible in live action. Character looks like a bad cosplay attempt. Not watching season 2 though.
It’s basically the backstory of league of legends champions, I would say just give it a try. I certainly like it more because of the game but I think it stands on its own pretty well
Counterpoint I watched 2 and thought it was boring and obvious and gave up
I know zero about LoL and am loving it on the merits of the series itself.
Pretty sure I didn’t.
Feel like I should rewatch it at some point.
Counter counter point. I watched 2 - almost gave up then got hooked in episode 3.
I thought 3 was really really good
Legit thought this was a Where’s Waldo? print.
Succession:
I just want to note that Tom refused to remove his shirt last night when Shiv was making a move. Wire wearing confirmed
Ya this seems so likely at this point.
Also loving the Romulus screwing the Milo Yianoppolous stand in.
Pretty sure Roman and the Fascist want to fuck each other.
The Line on Apple + was superb, an in depth look into renowned sociopath Eddie Gallagher and the Seal team who turned him in.
Pretty sure this happened in bathroom already.
oh no. rip bart.
Hulu has a deal through Monday: 99 cents a month for a year (ad supported plan). Must be a new subscriber or have not been a subscriber for at least a month. I’ve read you can just sign up with a different e-mail, so I’ll try that.
I just got an e-mail about this. I had HuluLive until it stopped playing nice with my FirstGen Chromecast this past spring, at which time I switched to YouTubeTV.
However, I’ve since bought the Chromecast Gen3, so I’ll likely get the 0.99 basic Hulu, if just to watch the new season of Letterkenny.
Oh, shit, season 10 is out December 26 on Hulu. The break between 8 and 9 was so much longer than before I had no idea a new one was coming so soon.
Final season of F Is For Family is out today.
F Is For Family is still going?
I fell off when that Vietnam vet was beating his wife. Did the show improve after that?
I thought season 4 was really good, but I also didn’t have the problems with season 3 you seem to have.
