pilot growing pains. def my least favorite business idea too but Nathan For You is a legendary 6 bagger
nathan graduated from one of canadaās top business schools with really good grades
As BJ says above, its a legit top ten show with a not great pilot. If you havent tried again since that first attempt, give it another shot.
Might have been mine, too-- both top-ten shows of the past decade. A Community / 30 Rock hour is the only thing that couldāve come close. (Or if ABC had put Happy Endings and Donāt Trust the Bā in Apt. 23 together.) Review had one of the best endings Iāve ever seen. Nathan For You is my #1 show of the 2010s (non-personal-involvement division)
If you donāt care to read the whole list, Iāll just tell you Review was #8 and Detroiters was #12. Another Period is on there, too, plus a few other Comedy Central shows.
Thatās my favorite episode. It might not be as ambitious or audacious as something like āDumb Starbucksā or āFinding Frances,ā but I think itās a perfect example of how Nathanās simple (albeit ridiculous) ideas can go in wildly unexpected directions.
(Also, Ray Primus is on Facebook. Heās a MAGA weirdo and I think self-publishes books.)
lmao I somehow jumped right to the line I was looking for, it kills me every time
What kind of lawyer am I, Iām signing shit I havenāt read?
Highly recommend watching any and all of that guyās interviews with local news that you can find.
Netflix has picked up the original CowboyBebop; if youāre a weirdo who isnāt seen it yet, now is the time before the live action version drops.
There are only 26 eps? No excuse not to see it, I guess.
The complete series is also available for purchase on iTunes for $5. (Digital)
Signed up for the free year of Paramount+ and watched the second episode of Detroiters. Holy shit this show is amazing. I donāt know how it only got two seasons.
Overall, Paramount+ looks kind of shitty, though, unless you like CBS shows for old people or Nickelodeon. The Comedy Central stuff is good. Some good movies, too, though Iāve seen most of them. I did stumble upon a random nothing sitcom that I was an extra in a million years ago, so that was kind of fun to see me in my wide-eyed innocent days.
Watched Deathnote on Netflix.
6/10
I havenāt watched anime before and my expectations werenāt high, but it was ok. I lost interest about 2/3rds of the way through though.
The anime is an actual 10, the movie is a 1 and Iām not an anime guy.
(Yes, it does slow down etc)
I thought the anime was 8/10, no idea why you would skip it and go straight to the lolive action version, that is very silly.
I should have been specific. I saw the American movie Deathnote a while back and didnāt like it. But I heard a lot of people who were shitting on the movie say the anime was good I thought Iād give the anime a chance.
I was pleasantly surprised by the anime. Not enough to recommend it to anyone who wasnāt an anime fan before, but I kept watching.
I lost interest though
after Light killed L. L then gets replaced by N who is nearly the same as L. I thought it was just rehashing the same idea again
Yes, the back half (?) falls a bit flat for that reason.
Pretty nervous about the live action version. I canāt imagine John Cho doing Jeet Kune Do.
Hell yeah
