My favorite “action” documentaries:
–30 for 30, Tragedy at Hillsborough
–Seconds from Disaster, Collision in Tenerife
–One Day in September (re: Munich 1972)

Yeah, that was really good imo. I’m a little biased because I clearly remember all of that happening. There were rumors that one of them got over to Vermont.
Only weak point was the 2nd to last one with the flashbacks. Not that it was “bad” , but it seemed totally unnecessary and messed a little with the flow of the story.
I interpreted that episode as an attempt to show that those guys were in fact super shitty humans, and not cool guy prison-escapers, which would be pretty insulting to their victims. Not sure how much they succeeded - Sweat, at least, comes off pretty well.
Well that What If was about 1000x better. Brolin/Thanos stole the show of course.
I had older brothers. I could do the whole 7 words routine at about 9 years old in 1974ish.
Just finished season 5 of The Shield… Fuck you Shane!
OLD
Really? Ive heard nothing but bad
Did you reply to the wrong post? I’m not following you here at all. My post was just giving some good natured grief to Dan, from one old to an older.
Lol, for some reason I thought we were in the movie thread and you were giving a review of the new Shyamalan.
I’ve missed Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
And they jumped straight into tackling the George Floyd fallout.
Second episode was much better
Goggins’ performance is a master class in acting there. First Shane is trying to find reasons not to do it, then he hits a tipping point (“Yeah?”) where he knows he has to do it, then he has to psych himself up to do it. Incredible scene and so much of it is in Goggins’ acting. I still remember when it dawned on me while he was talking that he was planning to kill Lem.
Any Dark fans in here? I’m only at the beginning of S2 but I’m loving it so far. Kind of a “Stranger Things but more serious” vibe to it. I find it hard to keep track of who is who, and for that reason this seems like the kind of show that might be even better on a rewatch. I hope S2 and S3 are on par with S1.
It’s hard as fuck to follow if you take a break or watched it each season when they came out. Also, watching it in German with subtitles is the only way to watch it imo.
Yeah that’s how I’m watching. It forces me to pay attention and not check my phone, etc.
I like watching shows while I do accounting work and there are so many foreign films or series I want to watch but can’t pay attention to the subtitles. The Spanish ones I can kind of follow since I took Spanish but I still lose the plot a lot and need to rewind.
Dark is outstanding but I also struggled to keep track of all the characters and all the timelines, probably best way to see it is to binge-watch it. I like that the show that respects its audience.
