mad men vs the walking dead always got me as making no sense when they were both going on at the same time. just how the hell were literally five times as many people watching the walking dead?

Picard pilot not great IMO… Stewart seems to have lost a step for sure. Preview for the season looks good though.
I don’t think I’m going to go week to week, I’ll just binge it when it’s ready. So I don’t mind spoilers anymore, I’d like to read if it’s good or not.
I’d be surprised if it was good, really. It’s an Alex Kurtzman show. It might not be bad (Star Trek 2009 was a pretty good movie) but it won’t be Star Trek (Star Trek 2009 wasn’t Star Trek, not really).
On the other hand, it might be very very bad (Star Trek: Into Darkness was a very bad movie). We will probably have 112-year-old Picard running around getting into sword fights and firefights. Which is doubly dumb because that’s not what a Star Trek series ought to be, and jesus christ Steward is so goddamn old, come on.
I dunno, at comic con they were talking about how it’s more introspective and cerebral. They may have been feeding us a line, but I feel like the audience at comic con would be more receptive to sword and firefights, so why lie about that?

I believe Stewart has always wanted to explore corruption within the Federation, so Picard will probably not be a series for people who want to make Starfleet great again.

I tried to get through a couple of minutes of The Goop Lab and Netflix should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this on their website. It’s pretty much a miniseries worth of advertising for their pseudoscientific bullshit lifestyle brand. It’s as bad as I thought it would be. A group of middle-aged rich white women sitting around and coming up with ridiculous ideas that have no basis in reality.
They are the least relatable people I’ve ever seen in a documentary. They do nothing more than push forward the notion that rich people can buy longevity while everybody else dies young. Fuck them and fuck Netflix for putting this bullshit on.

edit: reading a bit more and that’s not quite it? Romulus was destroyed by the genocidal war criminal Spock, which set off the Kelvin timeline. So the event that precipitated the Kelvin timeline is in the TNG universe’s timeline, but this isn’t the Kelvin timeline? Fucking JJ Abrams.
Just binged the first 4 episodes of The Outsider on HBO. It’s good, kinda typical Stephen King stuff but I’m into it.

I think it’s pretty clear now that this is going to be man-vs-devil as the main plot arc for the remainder of the show
