Fair enough. I’ll watch the rest and see.
Started binge watching the BBC series Line Of Duty, years late as usual for us lol. If anyone’s interested who hasn’t already seen it, the plot revolves around a very small police team (AC12) dedicated to investigating corruption in the police.
S1 (5 episodes) was uniformly (haha) excellent with no obvious weaknesses, and as you can imagine tensions are sky high between the team and their fellow officers with a strong and intriguing plot centered around a likeable but flawed officer.
Just started S2 which is equally good and thought I’d drop by to give it a strong recommendation.
You haven’t even gotten to the best character yet. The scouser who is always yelling about “fuken bent copparsh”. Awesome.
It’s fine I guess but even more flashbacks to ff through, even more with the forced melodrama. Heist stuff is still fun if you like that sort of thing. Faint praise maybe but I’ll still binge s4 when it comes out.
Man, I got totally tricked by for all mankind. An alternate history? Check. About space and moon colonization? Check. With the dude from altered carbon? Check. Nope, turns out it’s a soap opera that’s occasionally set on the moon.
Ted Lasso was good, but just never got hooked, guess I’m not really into that type of “feel good” comedy or however you’d characterize that style.
Meanwhile, Club de Cuervos might be even better on re-watch. Similar concept w/an idiot trying to run/manage a soccer club, except I liked CdC a lot better. I feel like if you switched the languages then CdC would be the GOAT comedy and Ted Lasso would be mostly unknown.
Shit if it’s that good, I’m definitely putting it on the list.
Anyone seen any good Spanish-language shows?
Is this a joke?
Trent Crimm, the Independent
Cable Girls is ez 4 star +. Not my cup of tea at first glance but I watched all seasons of it.
Excellent binge worthy soap opera in Spanish.
Dunno who ur quoting but misogynistic xenophobic assholes might not like it cos it’s in Spanish and has mostly female leads.
I wanted to like it. The weird thing is that I laughed a ton at those little 5 minute Ted Lasso things they did a couple years ago when he coached Leicester, but the series was a grind. I realize I’m prob the only on who’s not crazy about that series.
Wasn’t being serious, it goes just a notch too far with Ted some times (dart scene for example could have been done a lot better and that’s a highlight for sure) but man its a good show overall. Especially in these troubling times.
It’s funny because I generally don’t care for feel-good comedy or comedy that’s pitched to me that way, but I really liked Ted Lasso. (I must have linked this before, right?) I think it helps that getting to the feel-good parts takes a lot of work on Ted’s part. And that it’s also got some very funny character comedy.
The description of Club de Cuervos reminds me a little of these scripts I’ve been working on for a few years now to develop a series, although it’s less about a familial power struggle and more about, say, a James Dolan with a slightly different backstory trying to prove he’s not a fuckup.
Who Killed Sara on Netflix is horrible, first I had dubs on and that was ridiculous so I switched to subtitles and it didn’t really help.
I have never watched a minute of F1 or any car racing on tv (did go to the Detroit Gran Prix as a pre-teen with a wealthyish uncle but don’t remember any of it).
For some dumb reason I started watching F1: Drive To Survive on Netflix.
Now I’m hooked, set up a DVR subscription, and pissed that I missed the opening of the season in Bahrain. My daughter was rolling her eyes at me watching it, but is low key hooked and does her homework on the couch so she can follow along without admitting it
This is a uniquely American take but I find F1 kind of boring. Yes, I get that it’s the pinnacle of auto racing and they are the most skilled drivers in the world. But after the opening couple laps nothing really happens.
On the other hand Nascar short tracks are like destruction derbys disguised as races. Cars just constantly banging into one another in a completely reckless manner. Cars get mangled in wrecks and are back on the track 10 laps later. I love it.
i got sucked into F1 netflix show too. last time i followed F1 during the season would have been at least twenty years ago.
I’ll save your F5 key its torture by pointing out he’s not going to see that @.
I watched the first episode of Aaagh It’s the Mr. Hell Show. Has anyone else seen it?
