The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

Nope, wasnt that one either

Calling your bluff. You didnā€™t laugh at all.

I only have a few more episodes before Iā€™m finished!

Wat, Iā€™ve literally never even seen a list ranking the marvel films where that is in the top 5 of marvel movies.

I had to give this some thought, but I agree with you. I want Jordan to make Twilight Zone for ten years because itā€™s a blank canvas for his wildest ideas, but I can also see how that format could ultimately be limiting for his ambition.

Close. I got a chuckle out of vomiting from the eyes

Recommend passing on Tell me Your Secrets (prime). I stuck through after an interesting setup but the shocking twists become obvious and everyone pretty much unlikeable and/or stupid.

Counterpoint:

I binged s1 over two days and canā€™t wait for s2.

What did you like?

The study in grief, the conflicted characters, constantly trying to outsmart the plot and sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing but always feeling like it was compelling and fair.

The dialogue, acting, and twists are outstanding. Itā€™s a great script. The sound design and film editing is immersive.

And wow, making the anti-hero detective character be a literal serial rapist passionate about reform and redemption was a WTF decision, but itā€™s a great juxtaposition against the Trust Mom searching for her missing daughter. Sheā€™s a different and arguably worse kind of evil, and I couldnā€™t get enough out of feeling compelled to hate the rapist despite him trying to reform and do something good vs her having a sympathetic motivation but willingly inflicting pain and suffering in order to relieve her grief.

And that endingā€¦!!

I havenā€™t seen the New Twilight Zone, but Get Out was definitely on par with a top-tier TZ ep.

Iā€™ll watch the new eps again if you end up watching them. Some duds but also a bunch of amazing eps.

Figuring almost all the twists was just a part of what bothered me the last half the season.

Apparently LA to MN and back is an easy drive.

People are being killed, you are in witness protection, so itā€™s a good time to go get hammered at the bar.

Thatā€™s two serial killers/serial rapists that you didnā€™t know were right under your nose.

We can just wonder off the street into the attic at the orphanage.

The cop can just disappear for days while driving a cop SUV and no other cops are even looking for him.

Lady experiences heinous egg harvesting trauma as a kid and then ends up marrying someone at least tangentially involved later in life?

Omg the town patriarch claims Jesus but then does satan type shit. Hint for season 2 twist: rose was conceived using harvested eggs.

Every fucking dream/false memory was the exact opposite of the truth initially.

I got in too deep. Glad I finished but OMG. At least it got my dander up for a good rant here. Glad you were able to stay inside the story and enjoy for the right reasons.

I will give you the John character-well acted. Amy Brennaman is a fave but she jumped the shark for me in Minnesota.

Iā€™m not sure what is going on with hbo max right now, but I have been watching the wire, really enjoying it, and suddenly the only episode I can see is the season 1 episode called the wire.

Dang, season premiere of The Flash (which is actually the delayed season finale of the prior season) is disappointing, but glad for that storyline to be done. And word on the street is Grant Gustin spent the pandemic going full beefcake!

Meanwhile, Superman and Lois continues to deliver on every level with a fantastic second episode.

Started watching anime again

This time it was the first two episodes of a new series called High Rise Invasion. It wasnā€™t that great IMO. Feels like Iā€™m watching the FMVs of a survival horror video game. The end of the season also appears to be way too predictable.

Music is great though

I saw Rebecca Pidgeon in an episode of The Shield during my rewatch.

Has me thinking about my feelings for various Mamet film works.

Yeah, she plays Clark Greggā€™s wife, right?

I donā€™t know what to make of your second sentence because I donā€™t know what your feelings were or how they changed.

Also, VERY excited for this. What a great show.
