Rewatched Ultron and it’s better now that Wandavision gives it some context (or vice versa)
Ultron as a standalone movie is fine. It just wasn’t that interesting of a story and didn’t add significantly to the MCU. But I bet if it was the only MCU movie I watched I probably would think it’s pretty good.
Noooooooooooooooo
Yea that fake Russian accent was painful. Also (and I know this is super lol considering we’re talking about a superhero movie) I found the plot less convincing and the lines a bit cheesy, like they were trying too hard to be funny. I rank it above the Hulk movie but below the rest of the movies I’ve seen so far.
Next up is Ant Man, I think. I always assumed that was a stupid movie because it seems like a stupid superhero but I’m hoping for a surprise.
GTFO, Antman rules.
Hey I’ve never seen anything from it except maybe a single commercial, so like I said
Boooo I meant the other way around. Scarlet Witch GOAT and it sets up so much about the current WandaVision.
I much more enjoy “small” MCU movies like Antman. Paul Rudd delivers IMO.
Ultron was the first letdown movie. You didn’t expect much from ant man, gotg etc so they were pleasant surprises. The back half of Ultron just isn’t great.
So much about this movie felt disappointing. But it has a bunch of great stuff in it too! This scene allows is worth watching over and over again.
The hammer stuff sets up the payoff with Vision later, and that magnificent moment in Endgame.
This clip is great because it opens with the incredibly bad banner/natasha flirting scene that was ruthlessly dropped in the rest of the universe like a bad apple.
I guess it depends on how you see it. Given how their relationship played out over the course of the series so far, I found the Banner/Natasha dynamic very satisfying. Maybe there was some early flirtation, but for me, their dynamic is much more about platonic intimacy.
Even Cap says so after watching Bruce and Natasha together. He’s seen Natasha flirt up close. This isn’t that–even if he’s sort of curious whether it could be that, it isn’t what it turns into.
How does your reading of the scene change if you watch it knowing there’s nothing romantic or sexual between them? That the things they’re saying signify a different kind of intimacy?
Finally, finally started watching American Horror Story. Thoughts so far:
Season 1 is great, we’re hooked. (Murder House)
Season 2 is boring. We’re maybe halfway through, so maybe it gets better. (Coven)
I love Jamie Brewer, the actress with Down’s Syndrome. I was fascinated by her performance in Season 1. I’m so impressed that she was confident and strong enough to play that role, one in which she is called a monster and treated like shit by her own mom because of her condition.
I’ve been watching clips from Superman and Lois s1e1 again and boy is this good. Better than any of the DCEU movies.
Look at this opening. This is how you do it. And at 1:20 they work in the original comic book Superman costume!!!
The dialogue is perfect LOL.
Kid: Hey, cool costume.
Superman: Thanks! My mom made it for me
Then this fight scene is great. It looks great, the choreography is great, just a few lines of dialogue contain all the story you need.
I think you skipped something. S2 should be Asylum, not Coven
Hmm…my wife has control of the remote for this one, so I’ll double check and see if I can throw her under the bus. Either way, the season we’re watching is pretty meh.
I found all seasons after season one to be meh.
I actually like 2, so hopefully you get it figured out. Coven was pretty bad (outside of world treasure Kathy Bates) but Asylum has a pretty interesting story.
For the love of god stop before 5 though. Hotel is abysmal
I went from having never see an episode of Big Bang to being obsessed with the show in a week. Like, checking 5 times a day for new On Demand episodes, crying at the last scene and persistent stomach pain obsessed. Something about huge dorks leading happy, productive lives with attractive SOs hit me in the feels.
