In this Hitchcockian romance, Harris (Gino Anthony Pesi: Shades of Blue series, 42 2013), a weary cab driver, picks up a charming young woman named Penny (Brinna Kelly: The Midnight Man 2016), and from there the night begins to spiral as she soon disappears from his backseat. Stuck in a seemingly endless loop as the ride begins over and over again, Harris realizes something is very wrong. What starts out as a simple night on the job quickly turns into dark and tragic romance between Harris and Penny.
A gem on Amazon. Rated 100% on Tomatoes and well deserved. It makes me want to grab my phone and make some low budget home movies. Packs a fun amount of story into a mere 82 minutes.
Binged it a couple months ago, I liked it. It has a spacey feel visually and musically, despite taking placed in an Italian ghetto, and has a suspenseful plot. Just a warning though, none of the characters are really even remotely likeable, they’re basically all murdering pieces of shit. Overall it gets pretty nasty.
Glad you liked it. Check out the rest of his stuff. My favorite sports based episode (after the Mariners documentary) is “What if Barry Bonds went to the plate without a bat.”
The Good detective is great. Police drama, funny with great characters.
Currently watching Sky Castle. Hard to explain.
About a rich comminity trying to get their high performing kids into elite medical schools. Lots of intergenerational themes plus OTT drama and reveals.
The Teacher on Hulu is good. The premise, a teacher sleeping with her student, would lend itself to some salacious TV, but there’s none of that. It’s mostly about consequences of doing a very stupid thing.
