I’ll take any movie with Beanie Feldstein
The book is a must-read if you like true crime. Michelle McNamara, amateur sleuth, figures out how to catch a serial killer and wrote him an open letter taunting him, describing exactly how the cops will catch him like Babe Ruth calling his shot before knocking it put of the park.
Yep, the miniseries is all about her hunt for him and the tragic circumstances that surround her writing the book.
I remember when they caught him how sad I was that she didn’t live to see it. Still am, obv
Yeah, the last two episodes are heartbreaking, and uplifting.
Anyone else annoyed that HBOGo is gone? Can still stream directly through the cable provider but the ffwd/rwnd don’t work as well as Roku and it’s annoying.
I more annoyed that, as usual, Comcast/Xfinity can’t come to a deal with a network. HBO subscribers on other cable systems can get HBO Max for free, but not on Comcast. Other cable customers can get the ACC Network, but nope, Comcast can’t get a deal done with ESPN.
In what appears to be a very hot take for this thread, I did not/was not enjoying Dark on Netflix, so I stopped. I do not have the attention span/focus for subtitles and the dubbing was very distracting. But in general it just wasn’t interesting to me.
I am, however, enjoying Mindhunter. And I finally watched Back Mirror which was by-and-large very good with a few turds.
You fucking piece of shit.
mindhunter is excellent, shame they cancelled it and i love dark mirror.
I still have the finale to watch, but to me the biggest reveal/surprise of the series is easily
The fact that McNamara died of an overdose. I had NO idea about this. Even up til the second-to-last episode they had not even hinted about it up to that point. For whatever reason, I’ve been thinking it was something like an aneurism or some kind of heart attack ever since she died. I had no clue it was drugs. And tbh I have a hard time believing that Patton could have had no idea what was going on, having lived through that shit with my baby mama.
5 episodes into S1 of Dark (finally) and we’re digging it so far. Thanks for the recs
I agree that the dub gets occasionally distracting, unfortunately, but hasn’t detracted from the overall experience.
I just finished S1 of Mindhunter as well.
so good. The guy they got to play Kemper is fantastic and chilling and I was legitimately on the edge of my seat when he stood up from the hospital bed in the season finale. I knew in my head that the main character wasn’t gonna die, but fuck if that actor didn’t make me scared anyway.
Yeah he was great. Post when you finish season two, there’s something I want to address about the show but I don’t think you’re there yet.
Check out the mindhunter side by side with real life you can find online. It’s unreal how accurate it is.
The Immigration show on Netflix has made me turn it off twice so far because it’s infuriating to watch.
What’s with all the garbage on Netflix other than that lately? Everything looks like garbage.
This looks…good? Fun? Interesting? IDK, but it stars almost the whole main cast of Highlander: the series.
War of the Worlds: Goliath is a 2012 Malaysian animated science fiction film directed by Joe Pearson that was released in 15 November 2012 in Malaysia. The film is voiced by actors Peter Wingfield, Adrian Paul, Tony Eusoff, Elizabeth Gracen, Jim Byrnes, Rob Middleton, Mark Sheppard, Matt Letscher, Adam Baldwin and other voice actors. The film is a loose sequel to H. G. Wells’ 1898 novel The War of the Worlds . Its title refers to the human tripod the main characters use in the film.
The film is set in an alternate-reality Earth. In 1899, the Martians launched an unprovoked attack on the major nations of the world. In Leeds, England, a younger Eric Wells watches in horror as a Martian Tripod lays waste to his city and then kills his father and mother. But before it can kill him, the Martian Tripod suddenly keels forward and crashes into the ground. Over 140 million people were killed by the Martians, and many of the great cities of the world were destroyed until the Martians were killed off by Earth’s bacteria, against which the Martians had no defense.
15 years later, in Manhattan, New York City in 1914, the world has seen radical change and development. It has become a dieselpunk/steampunk-like world, where Earth is at the potential onset of the Great War as the European nations’ fragile alliance begins to shatter.
I’ll Be Gone In The Dark was so good it’s unreal. One of the best true crime series I have ever seen. Highly recommend.
