The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

 I use Russian TV for most football channels as the pictures are perfect, nothing for free I suppose.

Link Ahhhā€¦ Got you

I was going to say the exact same thing. This show used to be jam jam when I was young for whatever reason.

Dark is so damn good

thought this was another zarapochka derail. nvmd. back to your regularly scheduled programming

Tried watching The Politician on Netflix. Gave up after one episode. Literally zero characters are likeable. Maybe Gwyneth Paltrowā€™s character. I get that thatā€™s the point and that itā€™s over-the-top in its seriousness/drama, but I just couldnā€™t continue. My wife likes it, though, so I have caught some more of it when she has it on. Still sucks imo.

Really? Iā€™m going to watch an episode now. Will report back on whether you grue and witchita are right or morans.

Eta: it is good!

This doesnā€™t really need a spoiler - not that important, butā€¦ā€™

The first episode of Dark got me with something like that riddle - (A father and son have a car accident and are both badly hurt. They are both taken to separate hospitals. When the boy is taken in for an operation, the surgeon (doctor) says ā€˜I can not do the surgery because this is my sonā€™.) - There was something where they said the kid was the principalā€™s son and I said out loud ā€œhowā€™s that possible, the kidā€™s dad is a cop?ā€

Regarding your spoiler, me too! What awful people we are.

I also stopped watching it after that one episode, admitting that here is possibly even worse.

Meh we all have different tastes. Some people donā€™t like Dark, some people like fucking sheep, whatever makes you happy.

I dunno it might be that Iā€™ve always kind of liked Time theory stuff. Time being a flat circle etc. Became an inside joke with my ex because whenever she would say weā€™re running late or w/e Iā€™d say time doesnā€™t exist, she started doing it too and now all my homies are on the time doesnā€™t exist wave length. :+1:

Hmm, never tried fucking a sheep.

I watched it because Iā€™m always on the look out for decent time travel stuff, it seems relatively rare. Well, rare compared to really shitty time travel stuff.

Lots of it was good, it just had a few elements that meant I preferred to move on elsewhere. It seemed another series that was self-consciously grim and serious with very little humour, and I can often take against such things. Also, as a relatively new parent Iā€™ve pathetically found my tolerance for watching horrible stuff happening to kids to be pretty low recently. I donā€™t admire myself for it, but I canā€™t deny the subjective experience and itā€™s daft to ignore it in supposed leisure time. One day I hope to be back watching those little bastards get cut up!

Thatā€™s actually perfectly reasonable.

It is kind of fucked up to think there are basically an infinite number of timelines/worlds and weā€™re all stuck in this one lol.

OK, starting Dark tonight.

Maybe youā€™re stuck in it.

Well, no chance Iā€™ll be tempted back to Dark now I know this exists.

Are we going to have some kind of watch party for the last season of Dark? Or at least something like the final two episodes sometime this weekend?

I binged first two episodes last night. This show has no right to be as entertaining as it is, but here I am full of jelly that I donā€™t get to try out these obstacle courses myself.

Over the past few weeks, the directors have featured a wide variety of films, including John Frankenheimer ā€™s espionage thriller Ronin and Sam Raimi ā€™s ghoulish horror breakout The Evil Dead . This week, the Russos and Endgame screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely welcome extremely special guest Mark Hamill to discuss The Empire Strikes Back , and if thatā€™s not worth the price of a local pizza, nothing ever will be.

Binged the 2 seasons of Dark in about 4 days. Crazy show. Hard to keep track of all the character relationships. Had to shift my brain into just watch and donā€™t think too hard mode.
Reminds me of the time traveling movie Primer. Canā€™t get too caught up in keeping the timelines straight.

It felt so much harder because itā€™s in German (twss).

My wife and I went over who all the characters were after each episode for a while and it still took us most of Season 1 to get them straight.
