I really hope you guys are watching the awesomeness that is Truthpoint, which is Dril’s show on Adult Swim. The version that airs there is only 15 minutes long so they leave a bunch out, but you can watch on YouTube or adult swim.com for the hour long version.
It’s basically like they turned dril’s tweets into a TV show.
I don’t take threats of suicide from people with personality disorders super seriously. And if they DO kill themselves because they finally experienced consequences for their actions I’m not particularly sympathetic.
I get that there is probably something medically wrong with them, but most of the personality disorders today are how clinicians describe people who are so shitty that they’ve decided to label it a disorder because they are demonstrably bad for society.
I assume if he’s actually suicidal then the professionals who are staffing whatever correctional facility is housing him are on top of things. No need to be concerned.
You pansy, watch it in German with English subtitles.
Helpful hint: there are two English subtitle options in the Netflix app. The second one gets rid of the description of every sound and just does the dialogue.
Finished Space Force over the weekend. Definitely got better as it went. Still not an absolutely HILARIOUS comedy, but a lot of fun. It was setup well for another season.
You know, I did not even think to look for that option. Ty. I am glad I listened to the dub track at least once, though, since the dub actors are very good.
I might keep the first option… I am a fan of every sound descriptions.
The captioning was really good, except once in a while, a line just flashes on the screen, making it impossible to read. It was usually just a one-word sentence or something, though, and I found if I hit that 30-second rewind button, the caption showed up. Maybe it was just something with my internet connection.
Yeah, the first two episodes were probably the weakest. I really, really enjoyed the relationship between Carell and Malkovich’s characters as the show went on.
That said, I didn’t much care for the ending; felt like they needed another episode to resolve everything. (Also, one major point in the series doesn’t get explained at all when it really, really needs to be.)
I think I know which point you are talking about, but I assume it’s basically a running joke that it’s never explained.
My wife and I have decided that Dark and Space Force are in the same cinematic universe because (MINOR SPOILERS FOR BOTH SHOWS, BUT NOTHING THAT REALLY HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE PLOT):
In Dark, they never explain what happened to Torben Woller’s eye, even going so far as to have him almost explain only to get interrupted. We believe that General Naird’s wife shot his eye out while murdering someone else.
I think you could get away with that on a lot of shows, but the premise of this one kinda demands it be explained.
Our justice system generally protects and serves the powerful. What could the wife of a 4-star general have done to be sent to prison for 40-60 years, which is a very specific amount of time, and one that seems to rule out simple explanations like murder?
How does a 4-star general maintain all his top-level security clearances after his wife goes to prison for something that even his connections couldn’t get her out of?
The only Truthpoint ep I’ve watched in full was the one where Will Menaker and Katherine Krueger were on to take viewer mail on dating advice. That was fun.
Derek also started “Twitter 2” briefly but there was an uproar with the Freeforums people over one of the threads, I think.
I’ve been watching Ramy on Hulu with the gf and we both find it incredibly hilarious. Multiple hard laugh out loud moments per episode. It’s about a mid 20s guy in NYC trying to be a devout Muslim and struggling with making it work in the modern world.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned here but I’ve watched the first couple of episodes of High Fidelity on Hulu starring Zoe Kravitz and I’m enjoying it a lot
