the viewing window for the upload room is what makes that scene work lol
yeah that scene without the viewing window is like the Starship Troopers boot camp scene without Johnny Rico screaming āmedicā after that dude gets his head blown off.
āYou want something thatās hefty enough that it feels like itās grappling with the world when you are also grappling with the world,ā Saraiya tells me from her home base in Brooklyn, where sheāll be for the foreseeable future. More classical comfort TV can leave a little too much mental space for the outside world; 20 or so minutes into a more downbeat episode of Real Housewives , itās hard to resist checking the push notifications on your phone. With its engrossing period detail and scenes layered with cultural and thematic meaning, Mad Men is just mindful enough to be effectively mindless.
āItās so easy to watch, and also less heavy than something like The Sopranos , which just makes you feel like actual shit if you watch more than two episodes in a row.ā
itās more like if Rico himself got his head blown off. Again, though, the real problem is that the show did a poor job establishing a tone where that sort of thing would play for laughs.
Release moved up from October to July. Letās go. Iāve never seen it and would love a first watch party with you jokers.
I could be down for Hamilton.
Iām super excited about this. Been wanting to see it forever.
I took my gf and parents to see the national tour of it last fall. It was everything I wanted and more.
Alf?
SBTB TCY
Cagney and Lacey
BJ and the Bear
(Those last two pairs are the greatest tv couples ever)
Season 1 released episodes on a weekly basis, while the second season will drop all the episodes on June 25.
HYPE
On New Yearās Day 2000, I opened a time capsule I made in 6th grade. The paper inside said my favorite TV show was āAlf.ā
I wonder what young you thought of the cliffhanger series finale?
Thank goodness. I hate that cbs weekly release schedule. Especially for a show like that where episodes can be very uneven due to the anthology nature.
Hey guess what:
Niiioice. Thanks for this
Now if theyād release the In The Heights movie (for streaming) that was supposed to release in June, Iāll be a very happy woman.
When I was in college in 2000 or so, my roommates and I watched a couple episodes of Alf one afternoon because it was on TV Land or whatever.
That show was absolutely HORRIBLE. Loved it as a kid though for some reason. Probably just thought aliens were cool.
A while back I saw that it was available to stream on one of the free apps and was going to watch it. I didnāt make it through the first episode. It was just bad.
apparently Max Wright absolutely hated ALF and was openly thrilled when it got cancelled
TV shows are mostly horrible before the 90s. Shows now have a much larger budget and better writing. Most also arenāt restricted by censors like shows used to be in the 90s and earlier.
