The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

I want to watch Roadkill.

I’m hoping they left plenty of room to allow for a second series after seeing how well this went down.

It’s being shown by the ABC which is the equivalent to the BBC in the UK so I had a good feeling about it.

It’s called ART, look it up.

Either I dont see it or nobody has written anything about “Midnight Sky” yet? The film should have been up my alley but I am utterly disappointed. I found it boring.

When the crew faces the decision to return to this moon isnt that a mood point anyway? You cant restart mankind with just two people and no genetic variety.

I held a watch party for it in the megathread the day it released. I think I was the only one that watched it :P

I loved it.

If you are more interested in the astronauts facing one constant crisis after another, check out season 1 of MARS on Netflix (which sadly is leaving the platform at midnight today). Only six episodes and floored me with how good it was. Shades of Apollo 13, but going to Mars instead of the moon.

S2 goes in such a different direction that it’s like a completely different show. S2 is more like Ad Astra: the tv show.

No its not all about crisis for me. I want some kind of vision that might even be probable. I probably would have enjoyed the film more if they were going for the moon and Clooney was the only one left there after some catastrophy. But coming back to an earth that is uninhabitable and having only 2+1 people left(on board of the spaceship not counting Clooney) means game over mankind unless they have lots of zygotes on board to start over. Have I missed anything about the moon K-23? They didnt they anything about people being there.
I wait till the current season of Expanse is done and watch it in one go then.

I really think you will enjoy Mars S1 then. They go out of their way to show them facing realistic problems.

It jumps back and forth between the present and a few years in the future, when we make the mission.

The present stuff is documentary-style footage from 2016–using real clips from politicians and people like Elon Musk–to show what compelled us to shoot for a manned mission to Mars.

The future stuff is only a few years in the future, so they’re using technology that feels immediate and just as limited as what modern astronauts would face. That’s part of why I abandoned ship fast in S2. It transitions to something much more like The Expanse or Ad Astra.

Correct, but I also watched it again and could not confirm that they neither have nor don’t have more people waiting for them on K-23. It’s possible those are not the only two humans left.

I also am a big fan of the book and movie The Road, where the guaranteed demise of humanity is part of the premise. The story is about what we do knowing our species is at its end.

In Midnight Sky, even if those two are headed back to K-23, it’s so that they can live out the rest of their lives in whatever time is left to them. Anyone who returns back to Earth is going to die very quickly.

I was browsing through Amazon Prime looking for something to watch. I came across The Circle. Investigating it I saw Tom Hanks face and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. This movie was absolutely eviscerated critically. So was wondering if anyone had seen it.

Not worried about the critics just want to know if there is any value in watching it.

Meanwhile I will watch Roadkill Hotel Artemis.

It’s a cable channel.

TruTV used to be known as Court TV.

Now they are most famous for having some games in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

It’s on HBO max if you have it. I highly recommend watching the first few episodes.

Their spin off series House Party which has been going on during quarantine is one of my favorite shows for me and my wife to watch

THE Circle is a piece of shit.

Circle, however, is a terrific movie for fans of Among Us, Mafia, Werewolf, and good sci-fi.
