Mrs rugby got me into korean tv. So good.
Try “when the camellia blooms” next. It has the most likeable romance in TV history, plus serial killers.

A true chameleon has arrived
Haha the GOAT, i love that one where he’s acting as priest in face off, right as he grabs the girls ass.
On the subject of Tom Hardy, have you seen him in Peaky Blinders? I don’t really think its much different than his usual characters i guess but hes great, plays a jewish gangster.
I know I’ve professed my love for Nic Cage here before but man hes great, its a running inside joke in my family (siblings and me) that I like him and everyone else doesnt. My sister got me a tshirt of him from raising arizona and i love that shirt.
I haven’t seen Peaky. Hard for me to enjoy gangster movies, but that’s just me. Ana-Taylor Joy is almost enough for me to at least check out an episode.
Nic is a primal force. He just needs someone to channel it. Yesterday though I compared him to Chris Evans. Both had an explosion of success in their late twenties and thirties. But you look at Evans and the decisions he’s made now that he doesn’t have to make anything he doesn’t want to make. I like seeing what he does next, like the recent Red Sea Diving Resort and Snowpiercer. I compare that to Nic’s decisions at the same age and think maybe there’s something to this.
This was a great one with Alexandra Daddario. Did you end up watching it?
It’s not just the spot-on banter (the exact right metal bands name-checked) or how their attempts to be badass are so much more innocent than today’s. “We Summon the Darkness” is an end-of-the-’80s movie (at one point the youngest of the girls asks, “Who’s Judd Nelson?”), and there are moments when it feels like it could be the first horror film directed by Richard Linklater.
Beets, I meant to tell you but could not remember which poster had seen this until now. I read the memoir this was based on and think you’d enjoy it.
you should check it out man its great fun, Ana Taylor joy isnt in it till like Season 5 though i think. Cillian Murphy is great though
I don’t really think of it as heavily fart-based, although I have a pretty high tolerance for that sort of thing. I think more typical of the show is something like “Super Soft Birthday” or “A Fuss in the Back Bush” from season 1. It’s really more a combination of the wordplay and verbal humor with how well-observed and detailed the community and its characters are. That kind of thing may take time to grow on you.
I had a friend who was really into HSX. Every time he would go to a movie, he would get there early and pop his head into every single room just to see what the crowds were like for various films. If he saw something that was very different than expected, then he might make moves based on that (or at least do more research on it).
It honestly sounded like something I would have been interested in, but I just had too many other stupid hobbies I was into.
Yeah she appeared in the last season, also has a pretty small part in the show overall and her character sucks.
Yeah, it was pretty lame, tbh.
Ted Lasso lived up to the hype ITT. My wife’s favorite show of the year, she’s in love with it.
Manhunt: Unabomber ended up being the real treasure. Sam Worthington normally sucks harder than Tom Hardy, but here he is magnetic. And Paul Bettany, WOW, he inhabits the role completely.
I was supposed to be in this and was so pissed that day when I ended up doing nothing.
There’s a scene where a bunch of scientists are in a room observing and laughing at college Unabomber (I only saw the scene - haven’t watched the show). I was cast as one of the scientists. There was also an extra cast as an FBI agent. As normally happens, we sat around all day waiting to shoot.
When the AD came to figure out how we were all going to be positioned and give us instructions for the scene, he decided I looked better as the FBI agent, so I switched. That also meant I had to wait longer for my scene. Cool - I had fun watching the other guys while I waited.
I was finally called to set and the two actors - one was the lead scientist, one the lead agent - introduced themselves to me. They were very nice. The idea for the scene was that we were supposed to be watching what was going on from behind a two-way mirror. I noticed the director looking at me all strange-like and then start talking to someone. Uh oh.
The AD came over and told me I needed to step out for a moment. He then explained that because the other agent was already established in that room, the director realized it didn’t make sense that I was suddenly there, too. He assured me that they would find a spot for me, but in the end, they never did, and I spent the whole day doing nothing.
Now I REALLY hate Phil Laak.
Finally started The Handmaid’s Tale because of the $24/year Hulu deal. First episode is quite intriguing.
Sky High worth a watch if you like lighthearted comic book movies. Cast includes Kurt Russel, Lynda Carter, Bruce Campbell and two Kids in the Hall alums. Oh and Mary Elizabeth Winstead too.
