A Constitutional crisis is something we might need.
Openly announcing the end of Roe is red meat for Republican voters. Would not be surprised at all if conservatives are behind the leak.
So Dems ran a candidate no one wanted, lost to Trump, then could have elected just about anyone and chose a moderate who has done nothing, and you want to tell me itâs my fault?
Well, anyway, I think the right move in the next election is for progressives to turn their back on top-of-ticket races. Since electing eDems doesnât do anything, let them know they have zero chance of reaching the WH again without a committed progressive. The moderates can then tag along.

Conservative justices donât back away. Apparently Roberts was making inroads on a more moderate outcome. Could lock in votes as they are now.
Iâve been beating this drum since 2 forums ago but the Dems being the Washington Generals is how we got here. It has nothing to do with not electing enough of them. It has everything to do with most of them being Republicans with their blue tie costume and not accomplishing anything really for the last 40 years+
-Clinton era was a huge move right
-Most of them voted for the Iraq War
-Running hapless losers like John Kerry
-Obama and a filibuster-proof supermajority only managing to pass Romneycare
-LOLHIllary and the fairly rigged 2016 primary
-LOLBiden and the fairly rigged 2020 primary
-Biden refusing to end concentration camps at the southern border or really do anything he campaigned on.
Iâve said this over and over but the party has to be overthrown from the inside out. There is no working alongside the Clintons or the Obamas or the Bidens or the Chuck and Nancys that is going to ever accomplish anything. Ever. There have always been religious extremists in this country but allowing them to run unchecked for decades is how we got here. And the people who allowed them to do this virtually unopposed are the people i listed above. They were the ones with the power to stop this and they didnât even really try.

Maybe, but it seems like a huge gamble for something he already semi wants to happen anyways. Heâs for banning abortion. You could say that maybe he disagrees with the exact way theyâre going to do it, but heâs not going to throw away his career and/or respect of other conservative justices just to get 95% of what he wanted anyways.

There arenât really any checks now and havenât been for decades is my point. Continuing to give them power by voting for them is a questionable choice. The only way they lose their power within the party is crushing defeat.
Maybe we are marginally better off in the short run continuing to elect some of them but we arenât better off in the long run. I mean go look at the poll numbers in the LOL Dems thread. Dems arenât winning any forward looking demographics either. Gen Z is 50/50 and hispanics favor the GOP. So it isnât like this is just a wait them out type of scenario. If the Democratic party continues in itâs current form for another 10-20 years we really will be living in Handmaidâs Tale if it isnât too late already.

Why are the checks being pulled out though? It isnât because more people have been voting for Republicans. Itâs because the Democrats havenât done anything with power and they havenât done anything to actually protect our democracy. Itâs an illusion of checks from a group of people who have no desire or willpower to actually enforce them.
