Tic-Tac-Toe is a good example of two GTO bots playing each other. The best you can do is not lose. Tie every game. Except in poker they both lose to the rake.
This falls back into the trap of assuming that GTO is a playing style rather than a strategy which is used only when appropriate.
Which you’re assuming but I’m not. When I say GTO I mean GTO, not GTO-infused.

This is like some weird strawman about the mythical, hoodie-wearing GTO kids, since pros who have learned how to play GTO successfully are also smart enough to realize that playing GTO is not appropriate against many opponents.
Of course. But the discussion started with me saying I liked playing $150 tourneys and didn’t want to move up because I’m too lazy to grind GTO charts. Then Melkerson started asking about GTO vs. psychology. I knew what Melkerson meant.
I was literally trying to explain why one wouldn’t need or want to use GTO in those money ladder spots, or really anywhere vs. $150 tourney live players who you should be trying to exploit 100% of the time.
