Jesus itâs tilting that an institution 100% in the bag for conservatives is still openly attacked by sitting senators for every deviation from a hardline conservative agenda, while Dems breathlessly defend the legitimacy of the institution and talk about the importance of respecting its outcomes even when we disagree with them. We are never going to win anything meaningful, ever.

If you go down the GOP Senate roster, shit gets bleak FAST.
They get their pick based on seniority and/or power in the party. Generally preferences for by how much lobbying money gets thrown at each committee, followed by setting up a presidential run either via boosting the resume on a certain area or grandstanding.
