Roberts is definitely to the left of the other 5 appointed by Republican presidents.
If 2 of the 6 are going to side with Breyer/Kagan/Sotomayor, it’s an absolute lock that one of them will be Roberts.
We will find out if they’re going to be politically smart or insane true believers who won’t give a fuck about political consequences. I think Roberts is one of those people, we will see about Kav/ACB.
Kind of why I didn’t like the whole packing the supreme court bill/investigation. Don’t fire warning shots at these people and slow them down. Let them do some insane shit that will cause a massive backlash instead of bleeding us by a thousand cuts.

Explicitly overturning Roe v Wade doesn’t cross that line, and I’m not even sure it comes close.
What does backlash even mean? We have an epidemic of hollow backlash with no meaningful impact. Donnie Dumb Dumb generated loads of “backlash” and to what end? If a lot of people get angry at the SC for their decisions why would they care? Like, at all?

Probably the only meaningful thing that would grab the attention of the Court would be adding Justices or altering the Court in some other substantial way, like through term limits.
