This is even worse than I thought from your earlier post. Like the harm Breyer sold out to avoid was a father taking custody of their own child? Unless there are some details missing in your cliffs that seems like what should have happened anyway.
Cliffs ? I’ve mostly checked out. Are manchin and cinema putting up resistance?
Not like it matters a lot after 2024 the court will basically be irrelevant.
Not so far. They’ve both been approving judges that Biden nominates. SCOTUS might get more scrutiny though.
Biggest bottleneck right now is NM dude who just had a stroke.

But we’ve never appointed a SC justice while Russia is attacking Ukraine. Tough break for the Dems.
Really wish he had picked someone younger, but at least she seems more liberal than many of the other possibilities. The age is just such an important part of this and she’s older than Barrett.
She seems like a really good pick
Dems actually care about picking someone qualified, and its hard to find a “qualified” person in their 40s. Of course this is another self inflicted asymmetrical warfare problem for the Dems because the Rs will happy appoint a 25 year old is they are reliably racist.
She’s only a year older than Barrett and will be the second youngest Justice. So still a pretty good pick age-wise.
Excellent title change
From Wikipedia:
In 1996, Jackson married surgeon Patrick G. Jackson, a sixth-generation Harvard graduate. The couple have two daughters. Patrick Jackson’s twin brother is the brother-in-law of Janna Ryan, wife of former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Roll call vote for Jackson’s DC Circuit nomination about 8 months ago.
53 yes votes. Every Democrat plus Collins, Murkowski, Graham.

Right. Just like with gerrymandering, we need to play hardball as much as possible to counteract them. Biden should have nominated someone in her early 40s.
I thought everyone knew this.
Paul Ryan, in the past, has commented about her from time to time as he seems to know her some what through this family connection. Always very positive (as he was when she was nominated to her current post). Of course, it is not going to move the needle one iota.
Assuming nothing crazy happens, she’ll get 50 dems and maybe a small number of crossovers who want to seem impartial.
“You voted for her last time! Owned!!!”
Lol
