THE Super Tuesday Mega-Gameday Sweat

Someone on unstuck has been making the point that’s it’s much easier for old people to vote than for young people for a while now.

Victor’s line seems pretty racist to me. It’s not really ok to be like, it’s old people’s fault or white people’s fault or men’s fault either really. They’re all lumping a lot of people in where there don’t belong. Also, it’s probably more accurate to say it’s religious Christians’ fault than Black people’s. Just Christians’ fault all around - for white people and Trump. People hive minding at church.

That’s not necessarily cool either, but whatever, that’s my identity politics and you motherfuckers tried to exterminate my people.

I believe they requested the town hall before they thought about doing the debate with no audience

And I get the resentment, Biden is a horrible choice, but Bernie hasn’t done well enough anywhere to win the nomination. VT is his only state over 50%.

It’s not surprising. Bad people get elected. The Democratic party is horrible. Democratic voters don’t know what’s going on any more than Republican voters do. The average voter couldn’t tell you anything correct about any of the candidates.

Look at wheatrich. He seems to be unable to separate people supporting someone because they would like them to win and someone thinking that person is going to win. I can’t imagine what he thinks everyone is doing here. Maybe he thinks we’re all just betting on this.

Eh, he’s saying it’d be absurd for everybody to drop everything to do outreach for the 7% or whatever of black trump voters. Everybody would agree. So apply that same mindset to every subset.

It’s really not obvious to me what group of non-Bernie voters a progressive should direct efforts towards. Anyway, fuck political strategizing. That doesn’t work for you so well if your appeal is based largely on not being scumbags.

What’s incredibly telling is people saying to Listen To all the black Biden voters but nobody is saying the same for all the black folks who didn’t vote for Biden, Bernie supporters or otherwise. Like, they voted for Biden! We heard it loud and clear. How about we listen to rest, the young black folks currently struggling with the realization that they’re the first generation who are going to be worse the one previous, since emancipation, the existential crisis that their literal parents and grandparents might’ve been full of shit this entire time.

I dig it. What I’m getting at is Vict0ar is not dividing by race.

I think most of the “listen to Black people” talk is in bad faith from people who themselves just really don’t want Bernie for reasons having nothing to do with race (probably because they make $100k+ and are ok with their healthcare).

Well, sure, I’ve been saying that for decades.

I’m just amazed at the extent to which Bernie got fucking crushed.

Aside from OMG SOCIALISM BAD, why are people voting for Biden? Has he expressed any policy positions at all? He seems to be running on a Trump bad, socialism bad platform.

That shit ain’t gonna work in the GE. Gotta run on giving people hope, not telling people that the other choice sucks more than he sucks.

NO MULARKEY

The smart and good people on the teevee said sanders would lose to trump 24 hours a day for like 6 months.

Old people want a return to normalcy and they trust the known name brand over this scary new socialist thing, that’s my take.

The democratic voters told Bernie to go get his shine box.

Satirical answer, but it seems accurate:

Most people barely think about the decision. Until 2016 I never really thought much about the primaries. Biden is ahead. They want to vote for a Democrat. They vote for Biden. If you ask them why, then they, for the first time ever, have to come up with some kind of reason they can communicate and the closest thing is that they think he’s most likely to win. That doesn’t mean they spent half a second thinking about how performance in the primaries may or may not be the same as performance in the general.

I just rewatched his announcement video from what seems like several livetimes ago.The 3:29 can really be summarized by: Constitution good, Charlottesville bad, Trump bad, I’m running for president, America good, remember Charlottesville bad.

There’s no substance to his run and there never was.

Most voters are low info. Biden is the perfect low info candidate.
