Terunofuji, with the help of Endo of all people, doing his best to keep things interesting until the final day. If Endo beats Shodai and Takakeisho somehow beats Teru, we’d have a nice three-way playoff to cap the basho off.

Exciting finish to an otherwise dull basho. Glad Teru won as he was most deserving and sets us up for a run at the rope next basho with Hakuko presumably in the field.
Asanoyama given a one-year (six basho) suspension for his indiscretions. If he wants to make it back to Ozeki, he’s going to have to climb back through the lower ranks again like Terunofuji.
I can only feel so sorry for Asanoyama. After Abi, he had to know he was going to get spanked for breaking COVID rules.
it will be kinda fun to see him burn through the sandanme ranks. Not sure if I can find streams of those matches anywhere.

Terunofuji has said the same about his own knees. His recent mantra is that he knows his remaining sumo career won’t be a long one, so he’s going all out while he literally still has two legs to stand on.
I"m betting he gets the rope in Nagoya.
Ozeki returnee hopeful Takayasu is out of Nagoya with back issues.
Hakuho winning Days 3-4 in the most Hakuho possible ways. I think Teru wins this but it’s going to be a nail-biter.
Barring injuries this basho is quickly turning into a two-horse race.
I just realized that when the pandemic is over and the mystery basho girl’s identity is revealed, the English-language fan community is gonna go nuts. What a great hook, sumo has way better storytelling than the WWE.
She’s been revealed, and most of that community are going to be disappointed when the mask finally comes off. Let’s just say the mask makes her look younger than she actually is.

Make the woman the main character in the sumo setting and the script is practically written for you.
And it’s not too late. We’ll need a good 2-3 years before we can stomach reliving any covid-era pandemic horror flicks.
