There are a few different places to search, and it seems like different people doing the searches. From what I can tell, it seems like

initial documents found at an office he used at UPenn. I’m still a bit unclear whether someone just randomly came across the docs while doing something else or if they searched b/c they thought something might be there.

Once original docs were found, they notified Archives and Biden-affiliated people conducted a more extensive search of the Penn office, his Wilmington house (where they found other docs), and his house in Rehoboth [no reports of docs being found there, so maybe he really tries to unplug and not take work to the beach house])

Most recent search was carried out by FBI/DOJ people as part of the special counsel investigation. So, it’s different people who are more “independent.”

I have about $15k riding on this ruling. I should have just got a PPP loan for a million or two, paid off my student debt with that, had the PPP forgiven years ago, and I’d no longer have to stress over my measly few thousand I stand to have removed now. Hindsight.
