To defeat that cycle, you manufacture incidents to create a culture of permanent outrage. Encouraging people to be angry all the time and to express that anger gives them the energy to sustain action.

Like, does he not know it’s not gonna pass? What the fuck is going on here?

Its for 550 billion, and removes the increased incentive for the IRS to cut down on rich tax cheats to pay for it.

Just an absurd joke

Oh and half of it is coming from Covid relief passed on by republican governors.

Makes me fucking sick

Oh I see. Its in the house and requires 60 in the senate.

Lol no fucking way, even with an avalanche of concessions

He’s celebrating making a shitty deal that wasn’t ever going to pass and the twitter comments are full of simps like this

Just think where we’d be right now without such stunning leadership getting so many things accomplished.

It is just astonishing journalistic malpractice to not cover what’s actually going on. Whether the GOP tanks it tonight or later, there are only 4 Republican votes and this thing is DOA. What am I missing?

Imaginary bipartisanship pixie dust.

Can’t really blame the media when the president acts like that

But yeah Dems, media, and society still behaving like the gop is a good faith party is so lol

I think Biden actually thinks the deal is done lol

I guess I just assume they actually have 60 votes.

Its not the worst messaging in the world to really hype this up and then lay the blame for failure entirely at the republicans feet.

Not sure if there is any chance it is happening here but its not a terrible line to take

When there are 2-3 “surprises” per year every single place in the country I think people probably get forced to pull their heads out of the sand. For instance this year in Austin we’ve had pretty much Seattle’s weather in 2021. Rainfall and temperature were way more like Seattle than Austin and Seattle’s weather was way more like Austin’s. Every single day is weird right now. We are getting way way way more rain than normal.

The Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure proposal is set to move forward on Wednesday night, after Senate Republican negotiators appeared to lock down the necessary votes. As of Wednesday afternoon, at least 10 Republicans were expected to vote to advance an unfinished bill after tanking the effort last week. But even if the Senate agrees to begin considering the bipartisan framework, final passage remains uncertain.

The reason passage is uncertain is you have to get 60 votes again to finish the debate a few days down the line.

Right, the only drama here is when Lucy pulls the football.

Like when Americans all changed their minds about gun control when there was a mass shooting every day?

Isn’t there also a debt ceiling coming up? Playing an effective blame game might be the least bad option. Having people primed for „Republicans obstructing again“ than „Biden administration can’t get anything moving“.

We’re supposed to believe Republicans will just happily give Biden a win, knowing the reconciliation bill will be passed concurrently?

LOL
