We are more likely to see a bipartisan commission to reform social security and medicare than we are to see HR1 become law.

Honestly yesterday I was thinking about the fact that we will be lucky if Manchin votes for it at all. R’s are likely offering him everything under the sun AND using a ton of pressure to get him to vote no as this bill failing would be absolutely devastating to the dems, and it’s clear Manchin is a complete fuckhead.
I feel less certain this bill is a lock to pass.
I mean JFC in that article Cinema was pleading with Manchin to move forward and not tank the bill.
