I hope Trump puts an end to the claim “We just need a businessman in the Whitehouse.” Even though Trump is not a businessman and the odds of an actually competent business person without massive baggage and issues running for President is nill (Hi Mikey Blooms).

Are you kidding? Like 40% of the country definitely thinks he’s proving how amazing it is to have a businessman in the White House, and I would bet over 60% think that Trump is proving a businessman is good in the White House.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a big chunk of “The Resistance” felt that way. These would be the people saying, “Yeah, the stock market’s up and he’s doing great with the economy, it’s just the kids in cages and the tweets that are the problem…” There are plenty of people who hate him and will vote against him who are probably fans of his work on the economy, which leaves me very nervous about the election. It’s a big challenge for Democrats to run against a successful economy, and all of the indicators are good so they have to make the “it’s not working for YOU” argument. Helps that it’s true.
But, like, if Trump promises not to tweet in his second term, he probably wins a landslide. He’d get damn near 60% of the vote if not for the racism and Twitter.
That’s like saying GWB would have been a great President if he was a pro-choice big government anti-war democrat. The racism is the core of his identity.
