There’s a legit chance he thinks like a lot of Americans that “getting impeached” means he’s instantly removed from office and that Nancy Pelosi and the dems can just vote to remove him and that’s why he’s so shook.
The real question is how many Trumpkin voters are there? I’m talking about the number of people that never voted until Trump ran in 2016 and won’t vote if he’s not on the ballot in the future. It has to be a fairly large number considering how many GOP slappies refuse to stand up to Trump. They can’t afford to lose those votes. Which means when Trump is out of office, they will lose those votes.
Like I’m sure some version of the GOP in the future will always be there but the GOP as we know it pre-Obama is gone. Honestly, I don’t even really consider the GOP to be the GOP. It’s more like the Tea Party now than the 2000’s GOP.
News outlets are for-profit corporations. They don’t have a legal obligation to report ethically, but they have a legal obligation to maximize profits. If we want journalism fixed, that’s a good place to start, imo.
Donald Trump cites, as proof that he just gets things done where others can’t, the commemoration of the centennial of something that happened…checks notes…one hundred years ago.
Of course they’ll survive. Trump rewrote the playbook on how Republicans run for POTUS. With grifting and scamming being completely normalized, they’ll be tons of people chomping at the bit (politicians and otherwise) to play the same notes that Trump did to win in 2016. It’s just that they’ll be smarter about it by not posting two dozen tweets a day about conspiracy theories and incriminating themselves for everyone to see.
