This is the premise of my “how to troll republicans” thread. Push them back until they go back into the shadows where they belong. I fear it won’t happen in my lifetime.
Trump has very few core beliefs beyond “minorities = yucky,” so he keeps Miller around to reinforce that, and “China is killing us” so he keeps Navarro and Kudlow around to reinforce that. Anything else he “believes” because the nearest deplorable said something at the time.
Oh jeez, now the libs are so desperate for anything impeachable suddenly it’s illegal to owe money to yourself through a series of shell companies as a tax dodge.

And wasn’t Weisselberg supposed to get got immediately after the Cohen testimony? Any updates on him from the Feds or NYS?
Of course, the real scandal is probably not the crimes, but the stuff that happens that is considered perfectly legal…

Excuse me, but the correct amount of outrage is “IF these allegations were to turn out to be true, THEN that would be troubling indeed and might require more investigation.”

Yeah that won’t make a damn bit of difference. They already have a persecution complex that would just give them more fodder. The other thing that you miss is how easy it is for Trump supporters to simply isolate themselves; the overwhelming majority live in rural areas so they are all interacting with each other in a bubble. And those in cities are going to be connected enough with the internet to be able to meet up with each other, or exist in online circles, etc. This isn’t a viable solution and would likely make things worse.

Couldn’t agree more. But each person in this team is both a receptacle for propaganda and perpetrator of it. It’s a vicious circle and I don’t know how to stop it. Like we’d all celebrate if Bloomberg dropped out and bought Fox News, right? But realistically if they tried to control the messages of Pirro, Hannity, Ingraham, Carlson they have their own brands built, they would go elsewhere and would be welcomed with open arms. Even if you passed a new “fairness doctrine” you’d see mountains of “independent” journalists creating websites for purposes of grifting and spreading of false stories. The reason this exists is because there’s a market for it. And the reason there’s a market for it is because there’s been decades of on-demand propaganda porn that caters to anger, resentment, hatred, and self-fellating virtue signaling the flag, the military, and any symbols of Christianity.
I am seriously depressed because I don’t see how such a vicious cycle does anything but continue to get worse.

It is one of the most vexing paradoxes of these times that advances in information/communication technology have enabled people to be more insular and truly unaware of their surroundings. Counter-factual and horrific world-views have sprung up in the golden age of information sharing.

Really seems to me that something’s up with him. Not saying he’s dead but something bad happened to him. How bad is the question.
