The Presidency of Donald J. Trump v5.0: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes PEANUT BUTTER & BANANAS

Nunnehi making the smooth transition from “The eDems will save us!” to “The deeply troubled Republicans will save us!”

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but it takes a village and all that. I appreciate the assist :+1:

I assume they found a call that was not transcribed and totally fabricated a totally innocent transcript? Like that’s obviously the play here right?

Trump will be like “I would never do quid pro quo, never ever. Even if I said it I would obviously be joking because I would never do it.”

Then Zelensky will say “sir” 88 times and tell Trump he’s the greatest human being since Jesus Christ of Nazareth, perhaps even tied or slightly ahead of ol’ JC.

I love how they simultaneously argue he didn’t do it and yeah he did it so what.

100% would be “re-skinned” with the second syllable drawn out really long as he does his syllabic emphasizing tight mouth grin thing that he thinks makes him looks smart, thumb and forefinger pressed tightly together as if he’s conducting the most perfect word orchestra known to man.

It’s the first Zelenskyy phone call. It was just a standard congratulatory call. There’s nothing on it. The second call went really poorly, and Trump deviated from the talking points as soon as Zelenskyy brought up the javelins.

You should read Vindman’s deposition transcript. I feel like you’re not caught up enough on everything to know how even though I’m only on my third transcript, very little is helping Trump (Volker’s is the best for Trump, because his lies of omission are almost an art). I haven’t even gotten to the good ones yet (Taylor and Kent). Trump is toast based on those, and Vindman is the only one of the people whose transcripts are out who was on the phone call Trump’s getting impeached over.

Imagine feeling good about having O’Reilly’s support. Yikes.

Is it a good or a bad thing when the military forces the resignation of a president who allegedly committed fraud to get reelected for the fourth time?

How about the fact that he got to run for the fourth time after he lost a referendum of whether he could run or not?

I know he’s a socialist and he’s aligned politically with your ideals, but dictators should not be allowed to perpetuate themselves no matter which team they belong to.

He is right. Trump and his cronies are the ones subverting democracy.

There’s gotta be a non zero chance Trump meant to release the first call and instead released the 2nd call by accident.

The Bolivian Supreme Court ruled that he could run again.

I’m of the view that I need more information on it wrt the legality of the SC ruling and also why the US just had to get involved.

As far as I know it was internal politics and Bolivia seemed to be dealing with it in the courts with little to no violence from the president of Bolivia.

I agree that no-one should be in control forever whatever party their in, that’s not democracy. So it’s a tough call here for a lot of peeps in Bolivia when the SC decided for the Prez.

WSJ going at Pompeo, which generally tends to be a bad thing to happen:

In 2017, the country’s supreme court ruled that limits on the length of his tenure in office would violate Morales’s human rights.

Just think of a 2024 scenario in which Trump wants to run again and tell me if you want to make this “human rights” BS argument a precedent.

ETA: It is my understanding that the Bolivian SC was dissolved in 2012 and replaced with different members who are elected by each region of the country. I may be wrong here but the election of those members is equivalent as how we elect senators here, two per State regardless of population.

I don’t have time to be reading these transcripts at this point unfortunately. I’d love to, but things aren’t going well at the office and I’ve got to put in a ton of hours.

Counter point: name 67 Senators voting to convict. I’ll even let you have Manchin and Jones. But you need 20 Republicans. Maybe the public hearings move the needle. Hopefully they do. But he’s far from toast yet.

Absolute locks if 20 are voting yes:
Murkowsky
Collins
Gardner
Romney
Sasse

Might go along with the crowd if the tide is turning:
Toomey
Portman
Rubio
Alexander
Black Scott
White Scott
Daines
Capito
Lee

FFS this is impossible:
McConnell
Wicker
Young
Isakson
Sullivan
Blunt

Yeah, this ain’t happening.

I’m literally not commenting on what any of these people will do until a Senate trial actually starts. That might not be for at least another 60 days (I hope not), and I’m sure you realize fewer things aren’t going to be happening during that time. More will come out, and the dynamic will change further. This is a moving target, and until we’re actually in filed articles of impeachment (the senators are in denial and hoping this goes away quite frankly), I’m not going to try to figure out what any senator is going to do.
