There’s a pretty big difference between GOP senators who tend to have more respect for ‘the uniform’ than the GOP wingnut reps who just claim they do. After the shameless performance of Ratcliffe and others in the Vindman deposition, there could be significant blowback to firing the guy who actually did the right thing (and was not the only one to report this for clarity) who by the standard every single one of these military lovers/humpers is an absolute American hero prior to this.
This is an inflection point for the GOP senators. If they’re okay with this, they are literally okay with the textbook definition of treason from now on.

I think there are probably at least 20 that are a-okay with it in defense of Trump, and every single one of those is a military nuthugger.
They are all ok with it. You might get someone like Mitt who will be deeply concerned but he won’t do shit about it.
