The Presidency of Donald J. Trump v5.0: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes PEANUT BUTTER & BANANAS

If Trump is thinking Florida will be a safe haven, maybe he is stepping down! (One can dream)

I watch/listen to Jim and Sam on occasion. Just saw this and the back of my throat filled with bile. I can not see myself clear to watch it, but I post it here for anyone who might be braver.

Norton is still relevant? Does he still do vile jokes that aren’t funny and get mad when you point that out?

I can barely stand to listen to those guys on a regular day, they managed to kill whatever humor was left from the old O&A show and have been massively mailing it in. Plus it very quickly became obvious that they’re both super low-information deplorables based on any political subject that came up.

She asked hypothetically if the House would seek to arrest McGahn and said they might contemplate “sending the sergeant-at-arms to arrest Mr. McGahn.”

“What I don’t understand … is this notion that the judiciary can’t play its traditional role in deciding what the law is between these other branches,” Jackson said, later adding, “the Constitution itself sets the system in that way,”

A little background on the judge:

On July 23, 2009, President Barack Obama nominated Jackson to become Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.[12] The United States Senate confirmed Jackson by unanimous consent

My, however will the Repubs smear this one.

She was also among candidates considered by Obama to fill the 2016 Supreme Court Vacancy.

And, well, a little bit of trivia I don’t know if will turn out to be important:

anyone else remember the old days when republicans were planning to impeach hillary before the election?

Tapped out 3:26. Pretty fucking sure Chappelle can still do the black white supremacist. Maybe Jr. can’t do a white black supremacist but we encourage him to try.

Only issue is he can’t read.

Pretty much.

Don’t forget “create weird little characters that are actually pretty funny in tiny doses, and then massively overdo them and kill the joke” (or somethin’…tsss…)

Chip Chipperson is maybe the worst character ever.

Ryan even testified on Brown’s behalf when she was nominated to the district court in 2012, offering his “unequivocal” endorsement of her qualifications in recommending her for the bench.

“Our politics may differ, but my praise for Ketanji’s intellect, for her character, for her integrity is unequivocal,” Ryan said at her December 2012 nomination hearing. “She’s an amazing person, and I favorably recommend her consideration.”

Curious to see if she faces any ire and he comes to her defense.

I feel like Rudy might need his own thread. He is such a treasure. Named head of cyber shortly after being unable to login to his own phone.

That’s a pretty good way to get your phone erased without culpability, no?

I’m not sure.

Tim Morrison, famed lawyer and person who understands the ramifications of things who said Ukraine phone call ‘could have been better’. Not really the guy to be standing upon, buddy.

So I’ve listened to two podcasts today on Ukraine and president Zelensky. (The best being Fresh Air, The Ukrainian Side Of The Impeachment Drama : Fresh Air : NPR) He’s pretty much the wet dream of a Ukraine president from the US’s perspective (unity candidate, elected with over 70% of vote), and I think a lot of State Department and NSC and military types, not to mention Congress, were all super stoked that he was elected and would help integrate Ukraine more with the EU and US and promote good government and lessen corruption and reduce Russian influence.

That’s the context in which Trump starts yanking his chain and fucking with the $400M in military aid and pulling back on a promised WH visit, which would have helped Zalansky push back on Russia and likely end the war. I think Trump’s actions–which were strongly against the US’s declared and settled policies, which had strong buyin from Congress, State, NSC, and Military, etc.–and were being pushed by Giuliani and a few other ghouls, pretty much freaked the hell out of everyone, from liberals in the Senate to Bolton and Hill, to lifer army guys details to the NSC.

Now, Trump was either doing this shit to please Putin, or just because he’s a total moron and doesn’t understand US policy, much less global geopolitics, and wanted to hurt Biden, but the stove he was playing with was pretty much the hottest thing around from a US policy standpoint. And ole Donny boy just sat there putting his hands all over it and licking it and done burned himself real good. I expect a lot of this context to come out in the public hearings, and pretty much any informed American is gonna know just how much Trump was jeopardizing a key US/NATO policy goal to help himself in the next election.

“I told him, ‘You’ve betrayed your country, your president and your constituents,’ ” said Doris Cortese, 80, the vice chair of the Lee County Republican Executive Committee, recounting a conversation with Rooney.
“My exact words to him were: ‘Get out.’

I wonder how many babies Trump would have to eat to lose supporters.
