I think it’s more than the scrutiny, it’s the career government officials who witnessed the shakedown and had the intestinal fortitude to speak out, risk their careers, even their lives to sound the alarm that brought everything out into the light.
On that subject, just a reminder that a convicted Russian spy served less time in prison than the American service woman that blew the whistle on Russian interference in the 2016 election and who gets next to no media coverage.

I saw that too, but I think he won’t give up the chance to knife tRUmp in the back after he was uncerimouniously discharged from the administration, his lawyer’s statement about waiting in service for the subpoena sounds like an open invitation for one.
