C’mon man, the United States holds no responsibility in the radicalization of jihadists? It’s one of the main reasons America is in the shape it is today, the failure to take personal responsibility for the actions it has undertaken as a nation.

Charlie Wilson’s War still a GOAT movie about that conflict. Written by Aaron Sorkin, and it’s one of the last films directed by Mike Nichols before his death only seven years later.
Nichols previously directed such juggernauts as The Graduate, Working Girl, Wolf (the movie that made everyone scream Nicholson should be Wolverine), and The Birdcage, as well as the first solo screenwriting credit by JJ Abrams in a little Harrison Ford/Annette Bening movie called Regarding Henry. At the time, JJ was still going by JEFFREY Abrams. Nice early cameo by John Leguizamo as the robber, too.

I was merely pointing out bin Laden’s reasons for hating the West, not commenting on US responsibility for anything because that’s a much more subjective topic (obviously).
There was no need to keep the presence of the size we had there after the first Iraq War was resolved once they were pushed back from Kuwait. We knew it was unpopular with the faithful Muslims who saw it as sacrilegious, but gave zero fucks, we had oil interests to protect.
Dylan Roof and the El Paso shooter found it sacrilegious that people from Africa and Latin America are in the US. How is Bin Laden’s gripe any different?

I don’t condone the violence, OBL was a theocratic demagogue of the worst order and a piece of shit to boot, but absolving the US of all responsibility is not only naive, it’s extremely dangerous.
