C’mon man, the United States holds no responsibility in the radicalization of jihadists? It’s one of the main reasons America is in the shape it is today, the failure to take personal responsibility for the actions it has undertaken as a nation.

Is this the special relationship guys? What the actual fuckkkkkkk
Ohh and did the Russians know before Congress?
Charlie Wilson’s War still a GOAT movie about that conflict. Written by Aaron Sorkin, and it’s one of the last films directed by Mike Nichols before his death only seven years later.
Nichols previously directed such juggernauts as The Graduate, Working Girl, Wolf (the movie that made everyone scream Nicholson should be Wolverine), and The Birdcage, as well as the first solo screenwriting credit by JJ Abrams in a little Harrison Ford/Annette Bening movie called Regarding Henry. At the time, JJ was still going by JEFFREY Abrams. Nice early cameo by John Leguizamo as the robber, too.
champ pointed to the presence of US troops in SA and I don’t see the US as culpable there. Of course, there are other actions we can point to and I will likely agree with you on those.
I was merely pointing out bin Laden’s reasons for hating the West, not commenting on US responsibility for anything because that’s a much more subjective topic (obviously).
There was no need to keep the presence of the size we had there after the first Iraq War was resolved once they were pushed back from Kuwait. We knew it was unpopular with the faithful Muslims who saw it as sacrilegious, but gave zero fucks, we had oil interests to protect.
Dylan Roof and the El Paso shooter found it sacrilegious that people from Africa and Latin America are in the US. How is Bin Laden’s gripe any different?
Everyone can breathe easy, Lin-zee is praying for the dog.
Whew, that was a close one!
I don’t condone the violence, OBL was a theocratic demagogue of the worst order and a piece of shit to boot, but absolving the US of all responsibility is not only naive, it’s extremely dangerous.
It just reinforces to me that man made religion is an epidemic that has killed more people than any other malady the world has ever known.
Completely agree wth every word in this post.
My point was the messaging. Calling this racist, even though it has a history of racism at its core, is a terrible angle.
I don’t watch his incorherent babbling, on principle. Was I right?
You were right but in the sun will rise tomorrow kind of way.
Good point.
I didn’t watch it, but I can independently confirm this by thinking about it.
It’ll be something like, “Osama didn’t get famous until 9/11, but Ali Baba had an entire caliphate so my accomplishment dwarves that of the black guy.”
Boom

I cheated, I saw a reference to it on Twitter already.
Some quick phone thoughts.
Gjge, ISIS guy was a real jerk. Politically makes about 0 difference, so some tit calming here is in order. Thanks Russia first, confesses to intent to commit the war crime of plundering Syria’s oil, seems like a net negative performance. Will be back ranting about deep state scum and do nothing Democrats and no more headphone jack on the iPhone in a Moscow minute.
