Yeah, I assume ‘the DOJ is conducting a criminal investigation into the real conspirators’ will play on for weeks and months in the derposphere, to scare, distract, but foremost to blunt the shaming effect of the impeachment by delegitimizing everything.
Once you know you can get away with anything, the right plays are so obvious. I claim victory (although I’m not sure it was ever doubted) that he ever “wanted to be impeached” for political benefit; being impeached is driving him insane and he is showing that he actually wants to stop the impeachment process itself in the House (not going to happen), winning the trial is a thing in the future he isn’t even conceptualizing yet.

Sorry, I haven’t been following this, but did the Nats actually say they wouldn’t let Trump throw out the first pitch? Amazing if true. That is a dis of historic proportions, like future Ken Burns IV is absolutely going to be mentioning this moment in his 76-episdode documentary on the 300-year history of baseball.
