I agree. Mental illness is the core of it and the internet greatly exacerbates it. It allows mentally ill people exposure to massive amounts of information. If a person has a problem parsing information it can become overwhelming.
It also puts us in direct interaction with more of these people who are ill. It is really unfortunate and heartbreaking. Donāt get me wrong I can mock and make fun with the best of them but there is a sizable number of people who are stuck in their mental illness and these crazy conspiracies is lbs of the ways it manifests itself.
Ideally, in my fantasy world, the conservadems and sane Republicans become the party of the right, and a new left/green/socialist party forms, with the Q/Tea party relegated to the fringe.

Nobody tried to cancel him, they just made fun of him endlessly then his ridiculous hypocrisy came home to roost. I wonder if he expected people to be warmer to his news after he blabbed about it being a hoax.
Of course there are pedophiles and sex trafficking. But itās analogous to terrorism. The focus they get is many many orders of magnitude more than the actual threat, based on real risk, they should receive.
This over-focus results in real harm to communities like sex-workers and results in misallocation of police resources. It also leads to laws like the sex offender registry.

Bowing to the realities of holding a mass gathering in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in Florida, which has seen a spike in new cases, attendance at the convention during its first few days, Aug. 24-26, will be limited to delegates only, which is a little more than 2,500 people.
On the final day of the Republican National Convention, Aug. 27, when President Trump will give his acceptance speech, each of those delegates will be able to have a guest, and alternate delegates will be able to attend. This will bring a total of around 7,000 people, an expected attendance in line with Trumpās one post-pandemic rally in Tulsa, Okla., last month.

Remember there are only a handful of celebrities (quasi celebrities in many cases) who openly fight for the right. So they are held up high by a lot of people on the right. He is going to miss that.
