We do say “eh” a lot. It’s crazy.
A lot of subreddits and Facebook groups require it, even if the person is a public figure like Brad Parscale in the “cool mask!” replies.

I used to wait tables at McCormick and Kuletos on Fisherman’s Wharf. So fun during fleet week when you’re trying to take someone’s order and it sounds like the whole building is going to explode from a jet buzzing overhead.

Although depending on the part of Canada, it’s actually “hey.” I like it. “Pretty nice day, hey?” is heartwarming in these troubled times. I was mocked again and again for this vocal tick by Californians until I learned to stop saying it.
