I think I understand your point.
What Iām saying is that itās more likely that the people on this forum shift left. The right will stay right or move to the centre. But lefties now are never going to end up on the right extreme, even the moderates on the forum.

I donāt think anyone said 5 years? BoredSocial and I were saying 30 years. I think if two can win two terms it will be hard for them to win after that because the demographics are changing. That great article that was posted from an analyst who wasnāt even optimistic said the next 10 years will be really tough for democrats but after that demographics will have changed enough and enough evil white olds will have died that we should have a pretty clear advantaged. In 30 years it should be insurmountable. Only thing is thats only if we can keep our democracy intact until then.

If we believe in the idea of a civil religion then, arguably, American identity requires symbols and rituals to strengthen it. If not a Pledge of Allegiance, then something else would have to take its place.
