Am I really seeing posts discussing how the Republican Party is going to be unviable/replaced in the next 5 years? The party that controls 2/3 of the government? lol wat? Feels like a million times better of a chance that Trump wins than the Republican Party ceases to exist in 2025 but boy do I wish yāall were right.

Not that I know much about flowers and shit, but if I was at someoneās house and saw their garden as designed by Melania, I wouldnāt say itās ugly. Maybe Iād say nice flowers or something. But seeing it as it was before would probably get a āDamn, nice garden!ā from me.

I donāt if this is true.
Most boomers I know (the good kind) started as hippies. But picked up gay rights, racial equality, and then trans rights as they became increasingly mainstream.
I like to think we are lefties now because we are reasonable and decent human beings who listen to other people and update our world view when needed. So I assume we will drift left with society as we age.

My parents, who I mentioned in the DNC thread, were hippie-adjacent in their college/postgrad days. They got me out of bed to go protest at the post office today.
On the way my mom told me about the time she got tear gassed in college.
I guess Iām pretty lucky having them as parents.
they still have some implicit racial and gender biases, but they are learning

a lot is an understatement. Iām clearly one of the farthest left in my area of trumplandia vs being clearly one of the furthest right on this forum.
